Also, can anyone tell me what song this loop is from? I found it in one of my vengeance packs and im obsessed with it and really want to use it butttt im really really against using melodic loops like that in a song. I might have to break my rule. Any help? Id like to hear the song its from before I go any further

hey I originally thought it was from Terravita - Nail in the Coffin, but that is a similar but different riff.

I can't think of it though, I wanna say its a nero track.

I'm practicing trying to do a build up and bass drop, which is something that was completely absent in the sample track I posted. It's not working out so well, lol they don't sound all that right.

If you don't have mixing monitors the best way to get a good mix down is to listen to your track in headphones, earbuds, cars, and different computers/laptops and make notes of what needs to be adjusted. Your laptop speakers are gonna have no low end obviously.

surge that kind of sounded like 3 or 4 different songs, work on structure. Also work on the volume levels of certain sounds. Half of 3 minutes all I heard was clipping basslines drowning everything else out

Those were all concerns I had myself while listening to it, definitely going to pay more attention to that kind of stuff the next run around. As for the structure, I really shouldn't really be presenting these as songs by naming them and what not, since my intention for these projects is just me getting comfortable with the program until I can actually make something legitimate.

edit: but can anyone give me some insight on having bass and reducing clipping? I obviously ****ed up that issue myself, as when playing the track I didn't feel the bass enough, so I raised the volume on it and cloned the instrument until it was loud enough, obviously, that just resulted in a distorted mess.

I mean..personally I'd save for a nice pair, I love my technics RPDH1200s, the sound isolation + quality of the sound on the 100+ dollar pairs makes them worth it...but if someone can recommend you something good then have at it.

EQ all your channels properly. Also, put limiters on everything, including your Master channel.

My QuietComfort 2's did this

Can't find anywhere to get a replacement part, including Bose directly.

Any ideas?

I posted this song a couple times while it was a work in progress. Finished it a week ago and today I just got it back from the studio, mixed & mastered. Let me know what you guys think!

Thank you!

I don't know if any of you have heard of Alexander Adstedt, but I've been talking to him on Facebook, and he just heard my newest song and said he likes it, but its a little to trancey for him, which makes sense. If you haven't heard of him, Avicii always drops his songs, especially the song titled 'Humans'. Dropped it at summerburst and tomorrowland. Check his song out called 'we're still here'. its incredible. he just told me that the vocal mix of it called 'dreaming wide awake' should be dropping soon! can't wait for that.

Could definitely be more up tempo. Your break down that begins at 2:42 takes too long to get back into things, and a DJ might mix your track out at that point. Maybe split 2:42 - 4:25 into two parts, having each drop into something more 'hands-up' like you have going on at 2:12.

Song is almost finished. Still needs a few more things, what does everyone think? First song in a while that I'm actually going to finish.
