You should make business cards with links to your facebook page and soundcloud to throw out to the dance floor at the end of your sets.

You also gotta get a YouTube page going. That's usually the first place I'd think your average person would go to listen to your tracks after seeing you live.

Fair enough. I can imagine first impressions being huge in this industry. Otherwise you're gonna end up like Wolfgang Gartner and having to change your name like three times.

Yea Starkey's first impression came off real techy and weird back in 07/08. Probably why promoters don't book him these days it sucks. He is willing to play so many shows but nobody ever ****ing books him =/

Welcome to the family. Don't anger us.

I've really gotten into minimal house. Just seems like such a good genre to produce as it allows you to get the basics of structure and fluidity down while giving you a good platform to branch out to other house genres with. The whole 'less is more' approach is putting a lot of things into perspective for me.

Who has a link to that article that pretty much tears apart David Guetta, talks about how he doesn't really know how to produce, etc. ?

Old news.

Guetta in the past never made any of his own music. He had people like Joachim Garraud and Tocadisco ghost producing for him.

The man is a phony....

man quitt, your friend has some skills but tell him to stop with making extremely generic songs. i swear, if he puts any sort of originality to it he will get his songs signed no problem. tell him to make whatever generic synth he wants, then to switch/play around with different wave forms to get different sounds. it kills me when someone who obviously has some skills is not using them to their potential.

edit- love, you should say "i dare someone to find something good about it". sounds like you are still using stock ableton sounds with very little processing done to them

Haha, same difference. I don't even have the sounds from live installed. Massive, machine, +vst's. But hey you're close

Edit: But that was all you have to say, is that my stock sounds that aren't stock aren't processed enough? Its bass, piano, and brass...must be doing alright.

Does this song have a kick? I can't tell. The sub/bass needs to be tweaked a bit; the track is kinda muddy sounding.

I'm digging the groove though. Pretty gangsta.

Goddamn such good production skills. But again. GENERIC. Sounds like a Wolfgang Gartner track with an Afrojack build.

Definitely an art to making punchy kicks that I'm working on. Its not coming easy thats for sure. Muddyness is also something I struggle with.
Good listen though

We probably started producing roughly the same time? Im at like a year + a couple months how about you? Its insane the progress made in that time. Cannot imagine what we will be making in a few years.

it honestly sounds like you just opened up ableton 1 month ago and are just using stock ableton sounds + your basic analog synth.

Really dig this. The only thing I didn't like about the drop I didn't like was all the noise after the fact taking up sonic space. I'm assuming there is an a-cappella out for this? Would love to take a crack at a remix of this.
