Ive always had a negative view of crossfit. Theres going to be a class action lawsuit 10 years from now for all the people who have destroyed shoulders because of all the overhead work they promote.

The first week of training, our platoon trainer was huge into X-fit. He promoted kipping pullups. We had over 5 shoulder injuries that week alone, 3 of them torn rotator cuffs

god damnit. they're butchering my favorite lift. doesn't bother me too much though, whenever i see crossfit ******s in the gym doing that they always drop their jaw when they see me lifting double their weight for reps. srs on double weight, these ******s only put 10s on each side... and they weigh a lot more than me. i do more regular pull ups then they do kipping LOL.

Hahaha I know people who train at that gym. One kid is actually a ****ing beast. Squats 500lb at 190 for reps.

watching that vid made me feel like crossfit is just some trend going on for fat americans to make them feel like they are getting good exercise, but they"re not. if they were just to lift and watch what they ate all the fat people in that vid would look and feel so much better. Its like they think oh ma gawd this power clean or w/e the **** its called will give me abs and tone me up!
idk thats imo. i feel like it will def die down in the years to come.

Also, I don't know if you X-fit or whatever, but I say most. It's not much of a stretch, most of the people you see in the gym at all are out of shape and weak and make no progress. Throw in a ton of circuit training, and they shed pounds but they're still the same otherwise.

I don't do mainsite, so I can agree there. I've found their programming to be lackluster. Unless you're striving for mediocrity... That being said, I follow a program that borrows from crossfit called crossfit football. Feel free to google it.

This has been my anecdotal experience. but I don't actually know enough about crossfit to make such a statement in general.
also from people who do it, the ones who aren't really dumb sounding generally follow xfit football, so I assume it's better than normal xfit. I don't know.
