That's what I thought. It was worth the experience but not something is buy again. Time to go pick through the basement and pick some stuff to bring back to Boston with me.

Just had my first beer brewed with chiles, very interesting. Spicy in the throat, very green and fresh tasting on the tongue with a different bitterness than I'm used to on the back of the palete, definitely not a hop bitterness so I'm gonna say it's from the chiles. Pretty ****ing boss, but I don't think I could drink 16oz of it.

it's for a good cause too. I bought another one to age but I'll probably give it away. It's not bad but it's a quick way to get rid of a beer plus vanilla fades pretty fast.

Pliny is everywhere out here, I feel blessed. Had it on tap again last night, bought another bottle as well. Bought a cool glass too that looks like a Modus Hoperandi can, only in 16oz. Pretty boss.

Can't wait til tomorrow, hitting up Marble Brewery's Septemberfest. For $20 you get a pint glass, a pint of your choice, and unlimited 1oz samples from all 18 New Mexico breweries. Plus I got a free pint at the time of purchase since I got it at the brewery. Tried out their Kyle's Oaked Ale they had on special. It was a blend of their Imperial Red, and DIPA, aged in oak for 3 months. It was surprisingly good real nice malt body from the Imp. Red, and pretty good resinous, citrus character from the DIPA, and some pretty tasty vanilla, and toffee flavors from the oak, I hope their pouring some of that tomorrow haha.

Just got back from a beer festival. Drank so many sours, and IPAs. Standout was The Liberator, from Santa Fe Brewing Co. A naturally fermented sour aged for 2 years. Damn tasty, wish it wasn't tap only, and a limited release hah.

unfortunately very few breweries in the US make a sour year round. the lead time for them is insane and they take up space. currently drinking Big Bear Black Stout by Bear Republic and it's good, probably my last beer for the night as well.

Birthday yesterday, I had Bruery White Oak, Jolly Pumpkin Madrugada Obscura, and Boulevard Collaboration #3. Pretty good way to celebrate.

Drinking Alaskan Baltic Porter. it's good stuff. the cherry, vanilla and oak chips add some very nice flavors and they aren't over the top to mask the rest of the beer's flavors.

I've been hopelessly stuck on Odells IPA and Myrcenary IIPA. Lots and lots of fall seasonal beers are hitting the shelves though, I owe it to myself to pay the dudes at the liquor store a visit.

went to red robin for dinner and tried the oktoberfest shake which was decent. then went to a local tap house and picked up drie fontienen oude geuze and the golden blend. also drank Firestone Walker Oaktoberfest which I got for free since the keg popped and it wasn't an entire beer. it was kinda weak for an oktoberfest so I wasn't too disappointed. Then I drank Strubbe's Flemish Red which was decent. also got to sample St. Louis Geuze Fond Tradition which was pretty tasty.

Chilled with a couple friends tonight at my house. Started off with some Weihenstephaner Hefe, then had a couple La Cumbre Elevated IPA's, and Jubelales. And finally finished the night off cheap and sipping on Old Grand Dad, neat, haha.

Maudite and steen brugge tripel last night, found a bottle of boulevard rye on rye at some random packy, so grabbed that. Might try and hit up on of the nicer, more well stocked places today and see what I can find.

Drank North Coast Old Stock Otsuchi commemorative release yesterday. It matched the style pretty well but imo it was lacking flavor aside from alcohol. I wasn't a fan of it but it was for a good cause.
