I love the 90min. The only thing I thing I remember from drinking it was, "hey, this is pretty sweet compared to the other IPA's I have had, but it's delicious." I'm glad I'm not completely crazy and other people agree with that sweetness.

How high is high priced?
i wouldnt worry about the price, so much as finding it. if youre willing to pay the premium it is available on ebay.

90 ibu and 9 oz of hops. you definitely need a strong, sweet malt backing to support all those IBUs. im pretty sure all the hops used are high alpha as well.

ended up cracking one of the 2 y/o brooklyn barleywines. damn do those beers age well. oldest ive tried so far was a 2007 old guardian over the summer, so 4 years. id love to try one thats aged for 5 -8.

which IIPAs do you prefer, just out of curiosity?

EDIT: the 120 is super sweet, and super bitter. id put it somewhere close to ruination, but thicker and sweeter. and boozier
Hill Farmstead Abner and single hopped DIPAs (galaxy and citra) are some of the best I've had.

It's not just the malt sweetness that bothers me. It's also a yeasty/alcoholy sweetness.

I guess the next question is, is it worth $29.99-$59.99 for one 12oz beer, lol.

well since they had to dump a couple batches of 120 it's been in sort of short supply. plus dogfish really got slammed from doing Brewmasters. *****es Brew and most of the other products they featured were flying off the shelves. it should be about 9 bucks a bottle in stores. the only 12 oz bottle I'd pay that kind of money for would be Tactical Nuclear Penguin or Sink The Bismark

Can you buy the Tac nuk pen and sink the bismark from brewdog themselves, or do they not even make it on the regular?

Those are the only two beers that are "out of stock."

just did some more research. both were a 1 time release, in what was basically a dick measuring contest to make the strongest beer ever.

from the reviews i read i wouldnt buy either. id rather have a well crafted 10-20% beer than a novelty 30-40%abv beer.

Who needs those other brews, I'm happy with my Utopia

It's running low though, maybe 4-5 more glasses worth. :/

ive noticed bottles of utopias popping up all over the place lately, must be that time of year again. i want to try it but im still not willing to throw down $150 for one.

on the topic of gnarly beers, im still really bummed i didnt get a ticket to extreme beer fest and BA had to rub it in my face by putting three events related to it on the upcoming events portion of the homepage.

edit: rogue, i looked up some of those beers from vermont you were talking about and they sound pretty good. do they usually make it out of state(the Hills farmstead ones)? if not where are the best places up there to get it. i have a couple friends in vermont and northern new hampshire that i visit over the winter as they work at mountains. i definitely want to pick some up and maybe visit the brewery if it isnt too far out of the way.

They don't really have any distribution (Sell bottles at one store one time a week, lol). I've had some of their beers at events around NYC and from bottles people have had at tastings.

You should definitely hit up the vermont breweries if you can. Hill Farmstead, Lawson's Finest Liquids, and The Alchemist (once they open again...place was destroyed by flooding) are all making great beers.
