Let us know how this year's vertical epic is. Sounds pretty bad.

Drank this with lunch:

First sour (and only the 2nd or 3rd beer bottled, I think) by 512. It was ok, but nothing great. Review's here: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/17863/75401

la roja and luciernaga are both very good. Never had a JP beer I didn't enjoy, though.

gonna have a little fesh hop beer comparison soon. along with those two i alsto have the port and something else i cant remember.

also for EA, table and vine has most of the Port brewing co. beers as well.
older viscosity is pretty tasty, but steep at 16 bucks a bottle.

I haven't had any of those but the reviews on all of them average out to at least a B+. I prefer darker beers over lighter ones so I'd try la roja first. Oro is a biere de garde and Luciernaga is a belgian pale and is also their summer seasonal.

yeah from what i read La Roja was an amber colored belgian brewed in the flanders style. so im guessing that one is going to be closest to the flemish reds ive been enjoying. $13 a bottle though, damn.

and that older viscocity will definitely be sitting for a while.

if you try unwrapping it before popping the cap, yes. just hook the cap with your bottle opener and it does most of the work for you when you pull it off.

It always sticks to the glass, leaves a glue resin. Theres is zero way around it unless you pour it into a glass.

you aren't supposed to drink it out of the bottle. their main line doesn't have the foil.

it doesnt usually. but i already had 2 $17 bottles and two other $10+ and two $7-8. it gonna have to wait until next week

an yeah, you should be drinking most beers out of a glass, not the bottle. its not a 40oz.

I've been meaning to try all three in that series for a while but something else always takes preference. Did you buy one?

Not yet. Going to get online in a few and call a few local spots to see if it's avail. usually you only see 1-3 Avery beers on the shelf at any given time, abut another store will have 3 completely different avery beers. Why can't the liquor warehouse just carry it all!!!!

Oh, well they're all available here. Just can't imagine shipping them to Alaska would be cheap.

15% is big, but not too uncommon for imperial stouts. The 107 IBUs in a stout is more of a standout probably.
