Ugh ppl always find a reason to complain... Thumbs up to nppl for releasing dates, and helping teams prepare for 2012
The new generation of paintball players are bunch of whiney babies!!!

This is true, much props to the league for releasing dates and locations before the new year.
HB will be fun as usual!

According to mapquest thats a 16 hour(one way) journey. Although I guess it beats a $760 plane ticket.

An example would be from Washington state into British Colombia. Hope this helps some of you out. Passports cost about $130 and depending on demand can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months to receive.
As awesome as I think this event will be (being from Seattle) I do think this is a very poor move on the NPPL's behalf. You are trying to accommodate so few while inconveniencing so very many.

A couple more pros:
1. theres a lot of 7 man canadian teams to market to, and i think you will see a lot of them return to events after they have a taste of the nppl
2. Its beautiful there, you will love it and chances are you need to get out of the states anyways
3. Drinking age is 19
And for the idiot saying we have cxbl, sorry i like my 7 man, and i like It competitive!
my average return flight from edmonton is around $ 600 for every event, but i make out happen because i love the sport, hope you guys can make that happen for one event

where i see the problem being is in 2011 the nppl had 4 events from april to mid november. Now in 2012 they have 5 events from march 30th to october 5th so lets condense the time frame and add another event a lot of team will not be able to financially play all the events with only having 6 - 7 weeks in between and i believe that was a poor decision on nppls part.

you cant individually break down every single person's financial status before making a move like the NPPL did. NOWHERE on the NPPL website does it say you have to play vancouver, you have to play all events, and/or you even have to play the NPPL. go to an event, if you have the money, if you enjoy it come back. we'd love to have repeat customers. if not sorry it didnt work out.
and for the record PSP's schedule is going to look very similar to that of NPPL's schedule as far as time frame this upcoming year.

i understand that the point being is why not add that month so teams can get that extra week to get the funds to play all events. either way i love the fact that they expanded to a 5th event and into canada its a great idea hopefully it brings more teams into the league

it could be something as simple as scheduling and venue conflicts with the cities or other paintball parks. people dont realize what goes into picking events. they dont just slap their fingers down on a calendar and say that's the date!! if vegas or hb already has something going on the week they want to host the NPPL event then that changes EVERYTHING as far as scheduling goes. there may have been something big going on in november in vegas so NPPL was forced to condense all their events.
and just so you know im not positive as to why, im just offering some insight. hoping people will realize making events like this isnt always cut and dry.

Super happy about the Canada event, I was forced to stop playing this year but I will be making the trip to BC, I've been hoping a big professional league would bring an event up here for many years and people kept telling me it was an unrealistic pipe dream, I'm very happy NPPL is willing to take the risk and try something new.
