2 dm12 questions

I got two questions about a dm12 my buddy just got.

1) the eye pipe is cracked, and the eyes are blinking green, would the cracked eye pipe cause the eye failure?

2) this sounds like a really stupid question, but the gun is leaking out of the asa where the macro line is connected, now before you start rolling your eyes, I've taken the macro completely out and reconnected it, and moved the airport forward. When I air it up it acts normal, but then it starts leaking again. Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks guys.

You could try a new macroline, but what I've found is that after disconnecting it, you have to really push it in to get the seal. If after a good push it still leaks, do try a new macroline. The 90-degree pivots do have swivels on them (you can rotate the fitting around if you have the macroline out) so positioning of the airport should not be an issue.

Jam the macro line in good and hard. After you gas it up pull out on the macro line, the leak should stop.

Ok we got the macro leak figured out. But with the eyes they work norm until we actually try to fire it. Red when no ball, green when ball in breach, then we pull the trigger, won't shoot and blinks green. I don't understand if it is reading a ball is in the breach why wouldn't it fire?

Blinking green indicates an eye malfunction. Pull the eye pipe out and check if it's cracked. If it's not cracked clean it (aswell as the breech) reinstall it and see what happens.

Edit: Just read the top, install a new eye pipe. A crack will cause an eye malfunction.

It is cracked and we have a new one on the way. I know it indicates eye malfunction, but what I still can't comprehend is why it would read fine until we actually tried to shoot, ya know?

Now I'm sure this is a silly question. You have replaced the battery right? With a duracell or energizer? And I have seen the eyes do strange things with a cracked eye pipe.

are you trying to fire it with air and paint? if you leave a ball or your finger in the breach without the breach being cleared then it will just read like a paintball exploded and that the eyes are dirty.
If you are trying to shoot out a ball with air, reset your regs (lpr to 3 1/2 turns out and hpyer 3 to 165 psi), dwell to 18, and a new battery.

If the bolt is limp that means its not getting any air

3.5 turns out on the lpr

4 turns out from the hpr should get some air where its supposed to be going.

Ok. The lpr is at 3.5 and we will turn the hpr set right. The guy we bought it from told us he used it last in October and said it worked like a dream. He's just as confused as we are.

ASA is on? Gun (board) is turned on? No pinched or broken wires (solenoid wire) in the frame?

Did turning out the LPR 3.5 turns and the HPR 4 turns not work? In DMs the solenoid only closes when the gun cycles so if there is air in the gun it should pressurize. What color is the board LED when you turn it on? Have you tried turning the eyes off and cycling the gun?

I tried it without the eyes but still didn't cycle. I haven't had the chance to turn the hpr to 4 turns out though.

If the HPR isn't turned out enough there won't be any air in the back of the bolt to push it forwards... I need you to turn out the HPR enough that there is enough pressure in the back of the bolt to push it forwards.

As of up to this point it's not my eyes. It's my bolt not getting any air to it. I would have tried turning the hpr out like recommended but I'm vacation.

Yeah I'm fairly certain it's your HPR... let me know what happens when you get back.

Eyes blinking green means eye malfunction. Either the eyes are dirty (or eye pipe is dirty or cracked) or broken or the eye wires are broken somewhere. Clean the gun, check the wires (they should be tucked beside the solenoid on one side of the top half of the marker), and put in a new eye pipe. If the problem persists, change your eyes out.
