I am looking into buying one of the two and was hoping to get some info on the cameras such as; best quality, battery life longevity, durability, capabilities, and so on and so forth. Thanks for all help provided.
i am also looking to get a head cam for the holidays... not sure what to start looking for i know the go pro is very popular ive seen it many places but then again.. i see hondas every where.. doesn't mean there any good
hey i looked into many reviews on both of these products.. i will be getting the contour... one and only reason why... its wayyyy more sleek then the go pro.. the go pro is damn near a small digtal camera hanging off the side of your head.. the gopro does have better look to the video however as i just said its all about how sleek it is to me.. just my 2 cents.
ive never used the contour, but i have the gopro hd1 and now i have the hd2. loved both gopros! the HD2 is amazing. ive been playing with the slow motion features, it gets a little grainy but i think its pretty sweet. took these today
I have a Go Pro imo the picture quality with a go pro has an edge. Both are great tho, go pro can be mounted to absolutely anything and im sure the contour can as well. I think out of the box if you just plan on using the camera with a helmet mostly than the contour would probably keep you happier even tho I mount my go pro to my helmet the contour tho looks a lot less bulky and easier to use with a helmet.
Advantage of a GoPro is you can mount it to the top of your goggles and have a symmetrical view when shooting either left or right side. With a Contour, its hang out from either left or right, however its perfect for barrel mounting.
Here is a video i did on Sunday with my Contour. It is mounted to the left side of my goggles. As you can see, it hangs way out when im shooting left, and you can't see a whole lot when im shooting right, or wrapping around on the right side.
This is the contour roam btw, so it has the wide angle lense.
