The field is 180 x 100. It isn't a new layout, it's the xball bunkers with the mini X's from a few years ago, mixed in with some other airball bunkers from other sets to fill in a bit.
There are pics on their website and facebook.

Played out there 2wks ago and had fun. Just needed to knock off the rust for the 2012 season. Very polite and accomodating staff. My only suggestion is you may want to allow players (tourny or all) to bring there own paint and charge them a little higher field fee.
Otherwise, enjoy the game!! We will be out again!!

That would be difficult to keep up with. Anyone could sneak a pod in here or there on the field, and avoid the 5$ fee.
What's the big deal about buying their paint? It's decent paint, and paint sales is part of how they make their money. Lots of people seem to forget that while field owners enjoy paintball, they can't give stuff away for free, it's how they make their living. If they can't make a living, then the field won't exist. There's been enough decline lately in paintball around Tennessee. I'd rather pay a few bucks more and support the field than I would support wal-mart or academy or etc.
I'd like to have paint as cheap as possible but in all honesty, the profit the field makes off your money is greatly appreciated, and they need it more than any big chain does.
I guess in the end if you feel that strongly about shooting your own paint, maybe you should approach the guys who own the field and express your concern. If enough people do it, maybe they'll change their policy.

I played at a field that had that policy - fpo unless you pay extra to byop. But the byop fee was $10 + entry/air. The deal only helped teams that got discounted paint in bulk; the average joe saw no benefit. Really, it was designed for teams. But the field had a membership program, where players paid an annual fee to get field paint at a discount.
But Xtreme is still too new to be switching up pricing policies. I think it should stick with a simple base model like it has now until the field gets enough steady business to risk something new.
The field paint prices are reasonable, anyway. Not exactly a lot of shops in the area with competing prices, and ordering paint has the misfortunes of quality assurance in transit, and shipping costs.

I agree. Even as a player I don't think it would benefit me to buy cheap paint, maybe a few bucks but if I can't afford a case of field paint, there are other options to me: buy less than a case and play pump/tippman/gravity hopper/hopper ball, they could always use refs, ask to ref for a weekend/day and see if you can get discounted paint/fees, ask if you can help through the week (bunker cleaning, field maintenance, marker cleaning/repair, etc) to receive a discount. They want you to play so they might help.
The way I look at it also, if everyone has the same paint you don't have to worry about someone having rock hard old paint, and the playing field is fairly level.

It's all my old store & home field carried. I like Karnage. Glad there's a place out here that offers it.

Glad to see some input! As for the byop policy: I work at both NPi and Xtreme, and from what I'm seeing out here is the potential to expand the sport more than reduce it.. Regardless on your feelings, the profit the field makes off of you purchasing their paint comes back around to you later in cheaper prices for entry and paint down the road.. A lot of the big fields (I.e. Insane, Bear Claw) have the non-byop policy.. The happier the field is, the happier you will be.. See you all out there sometime! And btw, this is a very CHILL field to play at!

I don't see the problem with the BYOP policy. Yeah, sometimes I have paint leftover from an event or other field that I want to waste, but it is normally not that much or I'll just save it for a SEPS event/use it for backyard teching. The paint quality at Xtreme is really good, and the prices are very reasonable, esp compared to the crap you are going to pick up at walmart.

1st time at this field this past saturday and had a blast!! Great place to play, and definitely some cool owners! Im playing for their D4 team, and basically on the reffing staff now. With only 5 months of business and the field is where its at now, just think how it could be in the future. Come out and support these guys, well worth it!

Do renters only play with other renters, or do you mix players together in recball?
Reason i'm asking is because i've got family/friends that want to play but have limited gear to loan out, so some may rent. Want to make sure the self-equipped folks can play with the rental folks, otherwise we'll all be renting.

As long as everyone playing together is cool with it, we allow anyone to play with anyone.

I ask that everyone take a moment to read this thread and take into account the issue of safety at any fields/events that we attend. Regardless of the back story, the picture alone should scare awareness of safety into all of us. The stand back distance from nets, losing your voice from a day of screaming about masks and barrel covers, or missing out on a game to bring up a safety issue to a player/ref/field owner may seem pointless or uninviting, but they are essential steps in keeping OUR sport safe in years to come. An incident like this can ruin a field, event, or simply a day of play or can have paintball banned from city limits, the county, or even state! Let us do our part in helping everyone enjoy paintball. Keep this in mind this weekend as you play and keep OUR sport safe.
