Have you shot both? Both are great guns, but it will be entirely user preference. I prefer PE to Dye.

Geo2.1: Easy to maintain, easy to tune (no lpr), Has LCD screen, great PE customer service, every shop knows how to fix and wil have parts, fairly reliable, new reg and asa design, not very efficient (only 6 pods on a 68 4500 tank).

DM12: New style bolt with magnetic lock, smoother, uses LPR and HPR, more efficient, better barrel, slightly bigger in size, Good old Dye Customer service, No LCD or OLED screen, will shoot like a DM11, 10, or 9.

I would try each one and see how you like the feel. I you use any tank smaller than a 68 cu, then you will want the DM for efficiency. Ask around your local field and see if you can try someones for a game.

I agree with the above except for the dye having the better barrel.

The shaft 4 has a longer control bore and more porting. Hence it tends to be more concestent and quiet

consistent.

And yeah, basically all the points of each have been hit already. My personal preference would be DM12.

thanks. stupid iphone auto correct. It would be a toss up for me too as to which one i would pick. I hate the eye pipes; and I would not trade my 2.1 for a dm12 so I say 2.1 gets my vote

I completely forgot about eyepipes. I don't like using them either. The only reason I would use the Dm is because of efficiency. I carry at least 7 pods a game and like using my 68 tank. I would have to use a 88 tank on a Geo2 with that amount of paint.

I agree with everything said,
EXCEPT:
I have seen many geo2s get more than 6 pods off of a fill. Do I have any testing to prove it? No so my statement will probably be taken as some 2k11 spewing made up things.

a broken in geo2 will definitely get more than 6 pods off a 68/45 fill if broken in and tuned correctly, ive been able to shoot 5 pods and a hopper with a 56/45 in a game and still have a little under 2k left in my tank

IMO Dm12s just look way better than geos and they have the ergonomics of an NT. They have PGA colors as well as stock and now have a removable bolt system.

I will agree that I like the looks of the PGA colored DM12s better than the Geo2.1s. And the Geo2 is slightly less consistent. But I would choose the Geo 2.1 as a marker anyday. While I can easily handle doing maintenance on my markers I love the fact that I really dont have too with the Geo. PE really makes some work horses where as the Dye markers consistently require far more maintenance.
As for feel/sound...both are going to feel good in your hands. Both are relatively quiet.

The 2.1 is just as consistent as the dm. Mine was +/- 5 out of the box and has settled to +/- 1 ( with a .681 back so I am kind of cheating) but still just at consistent as any dm

In my opinion the DM 12 is a better gun. I have played with both extensively and the DM has better looks, efficiency, quieter, more accurate, faster, and the new bolt is great. A properly tuned DM is a thing of beauty. (14.5 Dwell, wing bolt, 2&1/4 turns out in LPR, hyper reg 4.25 turns out, plus many other settings using a virtue OLED board) yes they don't have an OLED but honestly anyone can take it out the box air it up and go play. That's how good it is out the box. The geo 2.1 is a GREAT gun. However, the DM 12 is superior.

2.1 for sure. The marker is just overall better (unless it is in bad condition). It's way easier to clean (dm's have like 25 orings on the bolt alone). The geo is just more reliable. All the DM's have flashing colored LED lights, when on the Geo you have one of the best boards on the market (OLED screen board). The only thing better about the dm is that it comes with an UL barrel, but the eclipse shaft 4 is close behind

dm:

pros:

-balanced
-feels wonderful in the hands
-smooth shot
-reliable
-great packaging

cons:

-poor resale
-kinda heavy

geo:

pros:

-light
-decent shot
-nice trigger
-good length
-reliable
-simple

cons:

-bad efficiency
-IMO feels bad in the hands
-air vents out of the reg (gets annoying)

between the two id take the dm because it has a better shot, feels better in the hands, and it will be more efficient

Geo 2.1 all the way.
1.Oled Board very easy to use.
2.Simple Maintenance
3.Great Look
4.Backed by P.E. (who has if not the number 1 customer service)
5.Shoots Smooth and is quiet
6.1 con not as good on air but still who shoots more then 8+ pods a game.

Agree with everything except #6 as my field only fills to 3000#. Easily solved get a bigger tank. Geo easily my choice with DM a close second.
