there isn't any air being shot, it just sits there. there are no detents, so a good paint to barrel match is helpful.

I see, but wouldn't the bolt hit it, forcing it to move?

The valve is completey closed when the bolt goes back forward and pushes a ball into the barrel. This means there is no air in the bolt/behind the ball. Like I just said, the bolt pushes the ball into the barrel, just like an Autococker. If the paint is too small for the barrel, it could possibly roll out, and there would be a dry fire once the shot was taken after the roll out. Like Nightcrawler said, there are no detents.

as fast as the marker will cycle.
But there seems to be a cycle limit of the Omen at about 25 pbs. but that may change with weight reductions and other things that i am working on.
stock omen is capped at 15pbs
PDP chip is 25pbs
i may be able to get it higher but do you really need to?

EXACTLY! I have never seen anyone shoot faster than 15-20 bps, and usually in a game it's about 10-15........ 40 bps is cool to brag about but will anyone ever use it? I highly doubt it........ (and yes I have seen the froth video..... and no I don't believe he fires that fast during a game......[unless he has a wad of cash to blow every game anyway])

Not impossible, but not likely. The Detonator on the Omen supposedly gets 2 FPS.

ome of the better detornators can get that low, if your lucky. mine is + 4.
and as for choping.... not going to happen. you will pinch a ball before you chop it. I have yet to chop at over 10000 shots.
cowmix... look for a post about people wanting blade triggers and you will find it in there.

search "raking the trigger'' here

dave, so you think the marker cannot physically do 25 cps? or its the boards and electronics that are limiting us? because blowbacks recharge pretty fast and with the omens high flow valve i think it possible to get that high. I think the detonator could reach that high of a cycle rate too.

When i get my frame back im really going to try to make a vid of it dry firing(maybe with paint) 25 BPS (with alotta bounce though) but its going to suck in quality because the only digital camcorder i know i can use is a digital camera with video options.

chris himself said that in one of his post. the Omen can't cycle to much faster than 25. i would like to do some testing on my Omen but that might be alittle while before i can do the testing i want to do on it. I got bigger fish to fry first.

With modifications and such, like flush cocking and delrin carrier, Ti striker, maybe even higher flow parts, I bet the Omen deff can go faster then 25, if not even 40.

THe Omen is the best designed marker on the Market. Once PMI gets the bugs out it'll be the best gun ever made. Its design is damn near flawless. I aplaud the guys at PMI.
