low pressure leak

i let my low pressure regulator leak for 1 or 2 minutes looking for a allen wrench.

I there a way to fully repair it my self. I already sent it to palmer 4 months ago ($125)

if i lube it sometimes it won't leak at all but if i think the wrong thing it will leak at the most in opportune time and i have to adjust the reg all the time too

I started using co2 with a stabilizer and expansion chamber then i switched back to breathing air.

It seems to me that i need repairs done. Can i do these my self?

Or is all this normal?
