SACC Field from uwf
Hey guys, here a short background.
Basically University of West Florida has announce the addition of football and in return most things have to be moved and other facilities be improved and upgraded.
This sparked a good time for the Paintball Club to start working on getting a paintball field on campus.
What will happen is they are going to improve one of the current fields to raise it about 5 feet or so and put FieldTurf on it, around the whole field would be paintball netting (keep in mind this is a Multi Purpose Field!.)
Anyways this idea would baisiclly make a netted area of 300ft (hopeing for more) by 150. Who wouldn't mind this having 2 fields in one huge netted area ?
Would this cause issues as we alternate fields so the other can get cleaned up really quick for the next match ?
Sky View of the potential field
The pipe between the two fields

This is the reason why the field will be getting raised to level it out completely.

you stole my idea!
Its a great seller though, have one big field for a multi purpose field and be able to alternate fields to save grass and make cleaning easier. All new and current clubs should pitch this idea to their college.
Hope you guys make it happen!

or if they could put a wire down the middle with netting that could be pulled across so could be split in half... since its going to be field turf how is it going to be cleaned and such since it is a multi-purpose field?

Lmao, Well they are already have the plans of turning it into a sport club field, raising and field turf, add lighting, support buildings with storage and more bleachers. This was recreations dept idea to just put poles around the field and netting and then we just move the bunkers in and out as needed.
Told them it wouldn't add much cost and told them around 200,000 tops.
Also im pitching ideas to get a paintball score board that is multi use

Hm, if we did that the wire would have to be temporary cause its a multi purpose field.
Also what you mean about cleaning, I've already spoken with field turf, and paint doesn't hurt the turf, we just have to make sure to rise the turf off to help the paint get off the field.

Well this is easier for it to happen now, since our current field which is very nice i might add is sitting right were the stadium will be place, so they looked into converting other fields to recreation use, since our Dept. already had claim on them, and then find additional land for growth and etc. So they are taking an existing field that next to our one freshmen resident houseing.
Since the Sport club program is starting to grow bigger and stronger, More clubs, current clubs grown and strengthen, and etc. We created an executive board of those people. So we now basicly created our own government within our program to express issues as they arise. I'm one of the lucky few who are on it. We have zero control over the master plan but i'm sure if need they will approach for more info about the field.
Now the Sport clubs program getting there own field was the Recreation Dept. Idea and they are making it top notch. Were talking storage for the clubs that need it (i.e. Paintball club and a few other) raising the field to hide the underground pipe as seen in the photos. Putting Field Turf on the whole playable area, bleacher may have the nice overhangs for weather as we all know Florida gets bad heat.
I believe Intramural is now going to have there own field now since I know rugby did a number on there field last year practicing 3 times sometime 4 times a week getting to nationals and almost won D3 Nationals, but now they moved up to D2.
This master plan is from comment and feedback from all the university. I was just able to voice my idea at the right time and next thing i knew i had a meeting with the Recreation Dept. to find a solution to my idea.
Things you will need.
Field size, legal netting height, storage, police permission (the dept of who you speak with should help) a way to clean the field (i.e. water hose, simple green etc), you want scoreboards? , and the list continues.
Also look into seeing if the school will open some wholesale accounts so you can buy your stuff a lot cheaper. Keep in mind all sales will have taxes on it so you have to count that in and etc, it can be messy.
Most important thing you can do is show why a paintball field could benefit the school and the community.
We have an issue in Pensacola were we have 2 paintball fields, one is a pure woodsball field and the other is an airball field 100ft long by about 75ft and the field isn't level, tons of sand and etc. so both fields isn't good for out team and the community is missing out on a good airball field that is top notch. So we should our Dept. how it can benefit and etc, espically when we said if we can get 2 regulation size fields we can host tournaments on campus in the NCPA. We tend to get photographers and people taking video. So I got a feeling the SACC conference or Florida conference whatever it is by the time the field gets its new face lift. Will have a new option for conference meetings.

Hey guys just an update our recreation dept. had a meeting with our police dept. and we now have permission to play outside on campus, so this mean we can continue with our process, hopefully we will be getting a woodsball field by this semester or latest beginning of the fall. Then a few year later down the road the tournament field will be built.

You know this cost around $6,000,000.00
don't quote me on that figure.
This is going to be a multi purpose field that is lit, and has storage.
Our school like to do something and Do it RIGHT the first time.
All though good news we will have our woodball field on campus up and running hopefully this semester.
