2011-2012 High School states and teams

This thread was created to further organize the 2011-2012 High School state and team list. The goal is to calculate how many teams from each state are interested in playing the NCPA series before the regionals reach our hometowns. I am in no way affiliated with NCPA or any other organization, i'm just here to help the players get the ball rolling and hopefully turn the high school league around for the better for future generations.

Please list your state along with team name and PBN sn if you have any interest in trying to play a high school event. Once we see enough teams show interest for any state we, together, will try to organize an event with a field and take it from there. This will be a 1-step at a time kind of deal, but at least its an effort to get some sort of ball rolling.

Madison, NE: Dragons Paintball

At the current time due to the weather during the NCPA season I am not sure if we will be competing as part of the NCPA or forming a separate league. Starting in mid October the weather becomes unpredictable at best and due to lack of indoor fields our season would start just after the NCPA nationals and finish up around the time of the PSP World Cup. I am currently trying however to work around this problem with the NCPA because letting them manage HS paint ball nation wide is easier than a teacher from the school doing it.

I had emailed the NCPA Email address to look into hosting an event for Illinois/Wisconsin/Indiana/Iowa area but I haven't heard anything back in over a week. The NCPA might want to consider delegating the High School portion to someone else within their organization so they can hopefully get this ball rolling. I know the high school league is small but hopefully with some more structure, we can hopefully get a larger following.

Anyone else not really a fan of the 600 paintballs per match?

@ThisWontHurt... Never having been to Nebraska, i would not know what fields would be available like you would. My plan for a Chicago based event is based off which indoor field would be accomodating and cooperate with a high school event. With a couple of indoor fields in our area it gives me some room to work and figure out what can be done. My suggesion would be an indoor field, if that is not an option than regionals "may" be your only choice for an organized high school event, due to the fact that during the time you plan on holding a league/series school will not be in session.

@cplach... I have not played in any high school event, but coached a few of my players through it last year, and i understand the limit to 600 paintballs. To me, it's to give the players room to move around a 3man field without being laned off break and to create open moves. It also gives them a chance to advance the field and look for better angles. In my opinion it hightens the players confidence at a beginner/entry level.

As for starting to get the ball rolling, since we have not heard from anyone about anything and the ncpa website is not listing any events other than texas, the best i can do is try and organize with the players and teams across the country to try and set up an event. Once a team list for that state is put together we present that information to a field and try to coordinate with a field manager. After that I would try and contact the NCPA with all the information gathered and see if they would acknowledge this event as an NCPA series event with NCPA prizes such as the money off which can be used towards a discounted regional event for each event winning team. Last year we were traveling to Wisconsin to play a high school series ran by Tom Redlin. He hosted a decent and laid back series and I would not mind attending another of his events. But from what it looks like, we're on our own for now. Maybe if we can get some information to try and start at least 1 event, the NCPA will take notice and head up the rest

Hey yeah our closest indoor field is Metro Paintball Games 2 hours away. We may show up at regionals but I may try to run a league parallel to the PSP season.

Now for an update on the Madison team. First meeting went great we had 40 people out of a school of 200 attend so one way or another we should have a team.

I e-mailed them about a week ago also and haven't heard back yet. Also I like the 600 round rule. keeps teams with limited funds more competitive without having to make the students pay for their own paint.

mpg just closed its doors last week If you need suggestions on where to play in NE, contact DSS Paintball and speak to Jake Topping. He's the operations manager for pro team VICIOUS and store manager. If anyone knows where to play in Nebraska, he does

In regards to a High School league in the Chicagoland area, please email me at rob@ninjapaintball.com. I might be interested in talking to you about forming something local.

Madison Nebraska's team will officially be playing in the Mid West High School Paintball League

@Sneaky: If you want the stuff I have put together for the MWHSPL to help with the stuff in your area let me know. Might be a good chance for some interstate competition outside the NCPA. I'm sending my revised PSP rules to a few people to get input then I will be posting them up.

Virginia; Hampton Roads Highschools has around 15-20 very solid ballers. Some play on the national level already so that would help to much.
