My old ninja reg from 3 years ago finally took some bad chips while diving, and I got the new Ninja Pro Reg. While filling it up at the shop i bought i from, it made this peculiar high pitched noise, like those cheap kids toys that make squealing noises when you flip them up and down, the hollow tubes with little cans in them. The shop attendant didn't say anything, so I thought it was their fill station maybe, but when I got home, I took the shims out for lp (after dryfiring the tank empty), then headed to the field the next day. I started filling it up and it was fine, but around 2000 psi (or a few seconds I cant remember) it started a high pitched squeal that slowly went lower in pitch until the tank was full at 4000 (all their fill station goes to) then stopped. It worked fine the whole day, but should I be worried at all? Sorry for the paragraph by the way ahah.

very odd. Never heard of that before. Almost wondering if you're only getting this on a fill, if its something to do with the fill nipples or fill nipple oring. You may want to degas and remove the fill nipple to check the oring and strut to make sure no debris is blocking the flow.

Since we've never run across one of our air systems making this noise, we would need you to send that air system in for us to do some testing and try to determine what might be causing the issue. If this continues to happen, let us know and we'll get you to send it in.

yes, you are covered. How long it will take to get your tank back will depend on how soon you get it to the bottle manufacturer to take care of it for you. Also, I cannot speak on the bottle manufacturer's behalf in regards to turnaround but they did list on their website that usual turnaround time is 3-5 business days. Please visit our Ninja Paintball website and click the warranty link and follow the instructions for the Bottle Warranty.

With regards to removing the regulator from the tank...once this is done how safe is it to fly to event, screw regulator on, air up, and play? I'm assuming with 4500 lbs of pressure the tank won't unscrew itself. Though it is a little more iffy to me...

Thanks

Most players that fly to events will hand-tighten the reg on the bottle. When you re-install it, make sure the threads are clean in the neck of the bottle and on the reg. Old loctite might still be on there which you need to remove. Also try and get out any dust/dirt/debris inside the bottle. Start threading the reg into the neck and if you feel resistance, back it out and try again. Make sure when the reg is fully seated, there is NO GAP between the bottom of the reg and the top of the neck of the bottle. When removing your air system from your marker, use your REGULATOR and not the back of the bottle. This will ensure your bottle does not separate from the reg upon removal from your markers asa.

Must I remove the entire reg to remove the fill nipple, or can I take off the top bonnet, similar to removing the shims?

this may be a stupid question and has probably been asked 100 times.

can you change the air output on a ninja adjustable reg while their is air in the tank?

what is the best way to fully degas the tank? i usually just disconnect the macroline from the hpr and let it vent out of there for a minute or so depending on how much air is in the tank. any better way of doing this? Thanks.

You can work on our regulators (externally and internally) without removing the entire regulator from the bottle. Before working on any regulator, you need to make sure to degas your bottle and make sure there is zero pressure inside the bottle.

No.

That works or you can dry fire your marker or you can use a universal fill adapter. There is no "best way" to fully degas a tank. Any of the recommendations above will work. Just get the air out of the bottle.

rob i have a question about my tank. I have a crack that goes all away around the neck of the tank itself. It does not look too deep or threatening but was wondering your opinion.

Sure is! 100% safe to use and the crack does not affect performance or safety of the air system. What I would do is go to our website and click the warranty link and follow the bottle warranty information and the bottle manufacturer will take care of you on the issue.
