I have two tanks in for hydro testing, they were dropped off on June 24th at the Chicago PSP event and was told expected return would be the first week of July. It's now almost four weeks later, any updates?

They are both 45 ci Pure Energy bottles with Pro regs.

No answer either to the 877 number, just rings?

Hey bud, I am assuming this is normal. If you have ever seen a grey tank that has been used heavily that had a tank butt or grip tape on it there will be yellowish discoloring from the UV rays whereas the area under the butt/tape will still be grey as it was not hit with the rays.

I am sure Rob can correct me if I am wrong, but I feel pretty confident that is the case here. Hope you're enjoying the BCA tank

So, I purchased a ninja tank in May, the tank was born on 04/12. I noticed something on my tank last week that i thought was a scuff on the coating. When I aired up my tank today I noticed something that made me quite worried. It is depicted in the images below:

There are deep gouges in the fiber, some even going down to the cylinder itself. It is gouging around the entire bottle, not just in one spot. I immediately emptied the tank and put it back in my gear bag. I brought it to the guy at the shop (Crossfire Paintball, St. Cloud MN) and he said it had to be due to something from manufacturing.

My main question in this is if it is covered by any sort of warranty or if I'm just out a tank.

Thanks for your time.
Aaron

From what I can see, it looks like the tank has expanded under extreme pressure. Ninja should warranty that. Wait for Nate, Ray or Rob to come in and take an official look.

Make sure you keep your Ninja Reg on it when you send it in, so they can test the regulator to make sure that it is still operating within its acceptable parameters.

do you know what could have caused the extreme pressure? It has only ever seen a 3k fill and I have never removed the reg or anything. I just took out the red shims to set the pressure at 450.

It's nothing you could of prevented, or done different to keep this from happening. It's just the epoxy layer was defective, and cracked. It's not a safety hazard, but Ninja will hopefully take care of you

Hi ravenwpg, they will start to fade after a while, similar to how the grey tanks are affected by the UV rays. They will discolor over time. Our black tanks can do the same but not as bad.

Not necessarily expanding under extreme pressure as much as a defective gel coating issue. Its 100% safe to use but if the gel coat was not applied or cured correctly at the time of manufacturing, these cracks can develop. It can arrive this way from the seller, it can happen on a first fill, or it can develop years after use. Either way, if a player ever has this issue, they can contact Ninja for assistance.

Rob I was going to ask you about this exact same issue... I have two Ninja Pro Tanks. One purchased in may and one at the begining of July just a couple of weeks ago. On Sunday When I was at the field I noticed that both my tanks have scrapes the look exactly like the ones in the other guys picture. The ones on the older tank are much worse than the new one. Should I just send you an email?

Thanks

Hey man, I would say emailing Rob is the best thing you can do. You more than likely got a tank with the defective gel coat. Without diving too far into the issue I know Rob will help you out. Just shoot him an email with pics of each tank showing as much detail as possible, your name and contact info and you should be all set

Hey Rob,

Aside from the Ninja tank covers, which other covers do you know of that will fit the Ninja 68/4500?

Thanks!

I would recommend one of our adjustable regulators set to 500 or 550psi
You can look at the Standard Adjustable, Ultralite Adjustable, or PRO Adjustable.
