I was wondering how often you should service your reg on your tank? I took mine apart last night and it was very dirty around the piston and inside the reg. body. Its only about 8 months old though. probably shot 50 cases through it while its been on my gun.
Also what kinds of issues can a dirty tank reg lead to besides issues with recharging?

I searched but didn't find that much to answer my questions....

To my knowledge there is no "concrete answer" to that question. As a personal rule of thumb I take my reg apart every 3-4 times I clean my gun (30-35 cases) just to make sure it's all up to snuff. Depending on where you play and the level of filtration their system has that is typically as far as I have ever personally liked to push it.

I take my regs apart never if possible. I'd do a clean up if it was out for hydro. IMO for regs if its working..leave it be.

As posted..some fields might do dirty fills. Keep your nipple covered so you dont blast dust into your system when you fill up and a good tank reg should need very little service for its life span.

I recommend once or twice a year, depending on the environment and how often you play. Unfortunately, dirty air fills are something you are going to deal with all over the place. I dont know of a single store or field in the world making Breathing Quality Air due to the costs of the compressors that are capable of making it.

I get my 68/45 filled at my local dive shop so should i even worry about cleaning it? They use the same equipment to fill scuba tanks

Yes, you will still need to relube the orings inside and keep enough lube on them to seal up the orings correctly. If you're only getting fills there and they are using breathing quality air, you wont have to worry about dirty air fills but you will need to relube every once in a while.
