your 13 year old LCD body is pressed into shape and then drilled out (just like the EGOs and DMs of today). there's no milling to speak of. That being said, the milling marks on the bottom of the body are never seen unless you strip the marker. additionally, they pose no problem aesthetically or functionally , so I don't mind them in the slightest

nope, it'll have it's own battery. otherwise it'll draw too much current from the gun's battery

sort of. look at the pics of the eye covers. there's a hole for what I think will be an infrared LED. so just like the RF chips that 'chirp' every time the noid clicks, I think the led with blink and let a receiver in the hopper know when the gun is firing.

just fyi, that's my own theory, none of it has been confirmed or denied yet.

It's an American company that manufactures the guns in Taiwan. If I read the ford report correct drew spurlocks brother even runs the plant in Taiwan.

The only team I know using them is the palm beach vipers and it seems these markers are already selling at least decently in the US.

The GMC cars have parts that are made in Mexico and even some parts probably come from China / Taiwan

Does a "Taiwan company stand behind that car"?

I'm just curious though why does it even matter?

FYI Dye guns are made in taiwan / overseas
This same factory was making parts for the 09 Impulse
as are probably 7-9 out of 10 manufacturer's markers (Eclipse included).
The parts are machined there.
What difference does it make if the machine shop is located in some city in Taiwan or Toronto?

Palm Beach Vipers shoot the Vapor. i get to see these guns in action every week.as far as the gun being made in Taiwan, you'd be shocked how many beloved highend guns are involved with Taiwan in some way or another. you can look back a few pages and see a complete tear down of the gun.

Heard that other teams will start using these. I know that the plan is to have a team using them at NPPL Vegas and at PSP Cup (other teams besides Vipers).

Please prove this statement. It is my understanding that Proto is imported, while Dye is manufactured in CA.

I understand all about the Asian manufacturing, but I do not know of any American Company behind this marker...What is the Name and Address of this company? What is their tax I.D. number or EIN?Are They a corp.?If so what State are they incorporated in?Are They a LLC?I really don't want to get involved in anything that is purely oversees anymore....Who is teching these Markers for us if we are at a Event?I do not want to send my marker to some factory in China for repair....It looks good but I don't need all the aggravation that goes with some of these no name companies and sure don't need to make another Paintball marker lamp for $1700.00 including the shade and wire kit!!!!!

only markers that are 100% made in the USA are Bob Longs

Dye paintball markers are designed in CA, created in Taiwan. Their main building in CA is their corporate headquarters, not the forging/machining plant.

paintball markers are metal and rubber these days. every part that can 'wear out' or 'go bad' on these markers is ALREADY IN STOCK AT YOUR LOCAL PRO SHOP! If your marker is inconsistent, look for a bad oring on the valve. leaking out the front? check the main seal and the rear feedneck oring. Solenoid leaking? check the main sail oring on your bolt. super-charging and firing randomly? check your reg seat and the top adjuster oring.

there's next to nothing that can go wrong these days because of how far paintball has come. The main problem these days is end-user incompetence.

So what if markers are 'made' in taiwan?
It doesnt mean the quality isnt there, it just means it costs less to manufacture them because resources and labour is cheaper. Its still an American company
Plus, 95% of everything in our houses are made in China. Big deal.
Plus Im sure each marker is quality tested before being shipped out so its not like its going be be any different than any other marker on the market just because it was constructed overseas.

I am not saying that it is unlikely, but surely that "fact" is based on something... I would be pretty surprised if their flagship marker is manufactured in Taiwan. MacDev makes their guns in Australia with tight tolerances and still stays competitive with prices. BLAST makes their guns here in the US and prices are below average for high-end markers. I think an unproven platform at $1600+ is a little heavy on mark-up.

Made in taiwan

Also cast, not milled which is cheaper.

Same for eclipse guns

I've been to the hq in cali before, trust me when I say they don't make anything there. it's a distribution facility and offices. there's no heavy metal work going on in there. I'll try to get billy to post and clear things up.

Oh, and as for the price....

Compared to other high ends the price is fair if not actually competitve. Case and point luxe 1500. 1 triigger no barrel kit no hopper. I guess cheaper or free could always be better though?idk

What's a trigger worth? 50 bucks?
Barrel kit 100+?
Hopper 200+

$350+/- of "goodies" not mentioning any of the gun's actual features etc.
cost of production is less than 1100 for the vapor, making it cheaper than the luxe to produce. markup is 1650 to cover shipping, lifetime warranty, the new hopper....

you're getting what you paid for. If you don't like it or think it's too expensive, don't get one and quit your *****in'.

Oh I completely agree with you. I'm on my phone so I can't go and find the correct place where it was stated here by someone who works for dye (think it was bwing but I honestly can't remember, it was a bit ago )

  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
