yay new thread. MTB sucks right now with the amount of ****ing wet leaves on the trails. Wash outs like a mother****er.

i've seen some mountain cycle fury frames being closed out, only heard good things about em! Used to have a hardtail from the same company and it was top notch
got my manitou minute expert 130 yesterday, took it out to the trails today, pretty damn smooth for being right out of the box, the abs+ damper is badass.
new rotors, pads, pedals, possibly new seat and post as well.
As soon as the leafs disappear off the trails, winter is an excellent time for MTB riding.

Too busy building. Hopefully gonna start a new line tomorrow, full of big natural style booters. Kinda stoked, not liking the idea of all the shoveling.
Still 65 degrees in ****ty ol' Staten Island. Unfortunately my back wheel is currently an oval but it hasn't slowed me down yet. I'm just afraid to hit any huge gaps but normal street riding is still fine. For those of you who know who Sean Ricany is, I beat him and a few of the WeThePeople in a long jump contest at the Group Home Bikes Train Jam last weekend. Here's the video:
Anyone have a suggestion for new tires? I have the OEM giant tires on my bike right now and want to gear it more towards street riding, I want to still be able to go over potholes, jump curbs etc, no offroading though
I was thinking of gatorskins in 26x1,1/8 size but have no idea if they would even fit?

****, I ride regardless, threw a bronson 2.1 tcs on the rear to help prevent wash outs, which it has, gravity 2.3 up front, went clipless, shorter (50mm?) stem, new seat.
My new set of avid cleansweep g3's (185/160) should be here late this week (hopefully friday) Also bought a set of XT 9 speed shifters to start to convert to 9 speed (probably xt cassette, kmc x9.99 chain, xt front der. and avid speed dial levers)
Edit: g3's came early this morning while I was at work.

Looking to spend about 300$ for a good mountain bike. any good brand I should look out for. And im 6 foot tall about 220 lbs what is a good length I should get.

I got a Giant boulder and its awsome for a 300$ Bicycle, Heavy but nothing has broken after a few months of hardcore abuse
Giant's frames go small----xlarge Im 6'4'' and got the large but its alittle small, should be good for you though
just dont buy something from walmart with plastic shifters and you should be good.

I'm about the same height and i'm 215, I ride a GT avalanche, size large, it has good geo for me and I've put it through hell and it still rides great for a hardtail. The 2011 GT avalanche 3.0 disc at performance is $349, and they have a good return policy so if you don't like it.
My Slx cassette came in today along with my sd7 levers. kmc x9.99 chain saturday but I'm buying a sram 951 tomorrow just so I can ride saturday morning (work at 3).

How are you liking riding the SPD's over your flats?
