anyone else here they only pump player at your local feild? my field is fairly small( one speedball field and two rec type fields). i usually run electros with my team but im now going pump and i will be the only pump player at my feild. anyone in the same situation as me? i havent been out there with a pump yet so i dont know how it will be. im guessing all the rental kids will think im some sort of god. i am really excited to get out there with a pump though. sick of batteries and cases of paint. just wanted to let yall know! oh im seventeen by the way.

I'm usually the only one at the fields I frequent. It's different, but you get used to it. The rental kids either get it or they don't, if you've got game you won't get treated that much differently than usual. Just go out and have fun, don't worry about the details.

A) nobody really cares your age
B) playing pump as the only player isnt that much different than playing with other pumpers, if you cant shoot, you wont shoot people out.

Have fun dude

I'm usually the only one, but it depends where I play. When I play woodsball (in a town 100 miles away), I have a friend that also plays pump.

The only comments I typically get are:

"You have to pump that thing every time? Why would you want to do that?"

or

"That thing must be super accurate."

or

"That thing must shoot really far, since it can't shoot fast."

My response is usually along the lines of "Yes, I have to pump it every time, and no, it's not an advantage, it's a handicap. And no, it's not more accurate, nor does it shoot any further than your semi."

And then they get a confused look...

I was the only pump player at the small field I played at when I was in college. I was poor and played pump a lot. It's fun, but I don't think people treated me too differently.

That's what I love about my field. Pump players are all over the place. Form 12 yr olds on up. Heck, there are many times even in open play where we split teams, pumps vs semi's. You would be surprised how many times the pump players win those matches. It's definitely a culture here and a great thing to be a part of.

Lots of pumps at my local field, but I when I go to other fields I am often the only pumper there.

It is pretty fun walking onto the field with only 20rnds and coming off the field with the majority of the teams eliminations...

1 is just the start =) I feel your pain though. When I was stationed in FL there was no pump scene where I was lovated.. Till I got there *Grin*
1 is enough it catches on, and the first one that shows up that makes it 2.. instant wingman lol.

The most fun I have had this year in a pump game has been LIVING LEGENDS when they did there pump/pistol Games @ Challenge Park Xtreme. Like nothing you have ever experienced!!! Im pretty sure they are having the event again next year soo when they do, might wanna check it out!

Have fun!

anyone play any 24 hour games? a couple hours from me, there is a feild that is like 60+ acres called waynes world and they host 24 hour games. i wouldnt even want to deal with trying to have electros during that. having pump would probably be the easiet and most reliable. would also be tons of fun.

I've started a lot of people playing pump in my area, but I'm often the only one playing pump.

I've also been told numerous times that people really don't like being shot by me (usually tournament players). Of course, that extends to all pump players when they are around. It mostly means I have to be friendlier than normal.

I'll be playing with a pump exclusively for like the next 3 months and I'm pretty sure I'll be the only one 90% of the time.

Yeah bro- When I switched over to playing pump six years ago, I was the only one at most of my local fields. I got the same reaction everywhere. You know those questions. I got alot of people playing pump just by playing well and talking it up. Guess they were amazed and wanted to do what I was doing. But now with the new explosion of pump(its cool again right?!!) I see pump players every field I go to. I think its cool but The problem I have is that alot of those buttheads I chose to not play with(you know the ones-electro tourney guys I'm looking at you) are crossing over now too. So now I'm back to playing pump with those d*@ks every once in awhile. Thats the nature of the game.

Usually but not always. Most of my old team mates that still do rec ball play pump now.

Most newb’ish players can’t tell the difference between open class and semi-autos any way.

I’ll be at Wayne’s grand finally with my Tracer this December.

I'm the only one at my field too. But that's only for the first 30 mins.
Then the rest of the pumpers show up. Gotta love SoCal!!!

Peace-
