How old is too old?
Hi Everyone,
Im looking to get into the sport and need some advice. First of all, am I too old?
I was a casual player in my teens and now am looking for a hobby that has cool toys and will help me stay in shape (or motivated to stay in shape). I'm 26 years old and have a group of friends who I play woodsball with once a month or so. I would love to play more often, I live about 10 mins from an indoor facility, and have never played indoors.
I guess my real question is, are there people playing in my age group or would I mostly be playing with high school kids? Also what is the best way for me to get into the sport in Salt Lake?
Any advice is welcome.

I refuse to grow old! I'm 42 and paintball helps me stay in shape and keeps me young. I compete in speedball and it gives me the motivation to stay physically fit, compared to sitting around getting old. I went to my 20 year reunion and I would say those people were old! HA ha. I'm not! I give those young bucks a run for thier money!

Most of Tsunami is past 30's and we took 4th last yr at the World Cup in Vegas. Age is not necessarily a major factor but being younger and in shape helps! Hey Trace, I didn't realize that we were the same age!

Great, I'm so glad to hear, so any advice for a noob thats trying to get into the sport? Should I just go hangout at UXP which is next to my house a couple nights a week?
Also a quick gear question, I was gifted an old impulse, you think that will be a good gun to learn speedball on, if so what should I invest in first, HPA tank? Mask? Hopper? New marker?
Thanks guys

personnally seeing is everything so if your mask is hard to see out or fogs up quick then that would be my first thing. then start building the gun. If you can blow 500 on a good starter set. such as nice mask (there are many). look at the 300 dollar markers DP, Proto make some good ones, THen get a Ninja compressed air tank. there some of the cheapest and lightest and there regs are awesome. and f you have extra a pod pack and some pods would be good,
Should have asked this question what year is the impulse, there were good markers some ppl still use them.

Im not sure if you are too old but I know Im not
Im 40
As for gear I would keep the Imp and work on the other items like pack, tank, hopper etc.
You should come out and practice with Desert Edge. We practice at UXP
here is our calender with all the dates and times
http://www.teamdesertedge.com/content/view/91/99/
We wont be there this week due to the game this weekend.
Let me know if you want to come out and I will make sure I keep an eye out for you and loan you the gear you need.
Also:
If you are interested we are heading down to Mesquite NV for the Operation Urgent Fury game at A Pirates Paradise field with about 30 guys. Let me know if you are interested in going and you are free to jump in with us.

I figure the extra old flabby skin helps with bounces... so it really evens the playing field.
I say you play till you can't anymore, mid 20's is still young IMO.

I'm 33 and getting fatter every day. Seems anymore, PB is my only way I get any real exercise. My age makes me feel good when I can run circles around most 20 year-olds though I can't shoot very fast, but I can kinda run still. Use what you got.
Looking forward to meeting you.

I'm posting this here instead of starting a new thread, so, this is a bit off topic... How important is getting your tanks re hydro'ed? and where in Utah do you do it and how much does it cost? Thanks!

well if its out of hydro and the place is doing there job correctly they wont fill the tank. rehydro runs about 35+ as for places local, the only place i heard of local is universial Cylinder, i know the sports chalet in west jordan does it they send it out to there facility. Addicts and UXP can always help you out.
