The Etha shot absolutely perfect for me down here at cup. Early, cool, 8am matches with very brittle Evil...and the gun hasn't skipped a beat. I've had a few different guys on the team shooting the gun as well, and a couple plan on picking one up because they've enjoyed shooting it so much. it's been extremely consistant over the chrono with the stock barrel, an has been nice and gentle on this brittle tourney paint.

I was lucky enough to shoot an Etha yesterday at our local field and I was pleasantly surprised. I have owned Egos, Geos, Eteks and an Alien, so wasn't expecting too much from this marker but after shooting really crap paint through it I changed my mind. I was going to get an Etek3 again but it will be an Etha for me now. The maker is quiet, a lot quieter than my Alien, Ego or my Etek3. Consistancy was also really good, was shooting between 285 and 290 fps jumping up or down by a foot or 2. Accuracy was also similar to a Geo2, hitting a 2cm pole ball after ball at 10m...can't wait for PE to start shipping the Ethas.

Hey Guys,

here is a vid we did this past weekend on the Etha. Shows you a little bit on how abusive you can be with this gun and still have it work!

Nice video. Not sure if that toss is even slow-pitch softball worthy haha, but valiant effort.

I use a duffle bag to carry all my gear, the Etha box looks pretty big compared to other PE markers. Any chance you could give some insight as too how much larger?

Also, the ting I hear when you are shooting, is that from the tank reg or the marker?

I SOOOOO wanted to edit that first throw out!! but thought it would look like it was staged and cut/edited because the mud was still down the barrel...LOL aye........

the box is larger and has the couple of hard edges on it, so it will be a bit tougher to stash away in a duffle. Not sure exactly how much larger, but it might be the shape (very square as opposed to rounded edges) that makes more of a difference.

The TING you hear was mostly the tank...my tank's burst disk blew that morning so I used a cheap rental. The sound signature of the Etha is definitely different though...I refer to it as a "scratchy" sound. We did some decibel meter tests on it and it is comparable to other guns...in between an EGO and GEO in loudness...but on the receiving end, we found that the signature was harder to place the location of the shot...if that makes any sense....

I cringed super hard at those torture tests but it totally showed how durable the marker is. Well done!

Just a quick question for the testers.

True ad honnest fact on how it handle REAL tournament grade paint.

Since the etha ''came out'' most of the people who tested it from UK said the gun was hard on paint and was not going to be a tournament oriented gun.

Now, from what i can get here, some of you shot Ultra evil which is pretty much as brittle as it can get.

So where does this new gun stand, cause its the major deal breaker for me.

I didn't use it at WC so I can't comment on Ultra Evil. I do know the weekend before Cup, we had a 2 day practice where other guns (including some Egos) were breaking paint but I didn't break a single ball with the Etha. That actually surprised even me.

Much like Vicious, I've not been shooting any paint actually *intended* to be brittle, but have shot some very old paint during testing that I really expected to be breaking and causing problems. As it is, I've not broken a single ball.

Is there any kind of default power saving mode that turns it off after a certain set period of time? I would be using this for scenario and big games where sometimes you might go 5-10 minutes without firing during a mission and I know this is a small problem with the mini because it takes a few trigger clicks to wake it up.

I actually broke one ball today. Having said that, I think the ball was broken before the marker was cycling fully.

I find that the marker half cycles a couple of times before it gets going (only ever a couple). I presume that one half cycle pushed a ball part way out of the breech, which in turn allowed the next ball to partially enter the breech. The next cycle broke that half fed ball.

After the two half cycles, the marker shot normally, and there were no further breaks.

How does this feel weight wise compared to an etek 3? I've seen weights on both but you never know if that's with a barrel, battery, etc.

Sorry...missed the post earlier.

I shot the Etha at cup and shot both the silver shelled Ultra Evil and blue blue shelled Ultra Evil (smelled like apples). We had 8am matches both Thursday and Friday. We shot the silver shell first match and every gun on the team had issues with the paint being a bit to brittle. Several guys braking paint in their hoppers just from their initial dives and what not. It was just a matter of real real brittle paint, and cold 8am matches. For the majority though we had very few problems with the paint, and the Etha shot the paint just as well as my ego11.

We had switched to the blue shell for the next morning and the remaining three matches shootin the blue shell in the AM and the silver shell in both of the later matches....we little to no issues. Several guys on the team shot the Etha at cup, and they had no issues with paint. One or two barrel breaks in the early Thursday match...but not a single issue shooting very fragile paint in the remaining three.

Is it the softest gun on paint? Probably not...but your not paying $1250 for this gun either. Did a $395 Etha shoot spot on with fragile Ultra Evil for me and a few of my teammates at cup? Absolutely

All PE guns are weighed with barrel and battery.
