Bought it new less than two weeks ago. I was freaked out because I have two scratches in the breech of my gun. They're not super deep but you can feel the edges.
I contact the shop I buy it from and PE. Shop says bring it in, PE says take pictures. I take some and send the bet one in. Their advice was bring it to the shop but if it was truly brand new and never cycled if it was a problem they could swap it out, but to tell him it was like that brand new from the factory was unusual.
I go to the shop where I bought it and the guy is baffled and ready to call his rep. He says for shiggles let's look at another. There they are, not as prominent but a little longer. Looked in another, shorter but deeper to the touch. Four plus mine had these scratches/gouges/lines.
Maybe thy from a tool used to dip it in the bath during anno? Maybe one while milling? It wouldn't be from the bolt because only the soft tip would go that far.

Can Jack or Nicky chime in?
In-hoc how old is yours?
Yours slo poke?
Mine only has half a case threw it. I bought it mid March.
These small marks are from the "jig" or framework that holds the marker while it's suspended in the anodizing tank.
There has to be a means of suspending the body so that the anodizing can get all "in and around" the body for even distribution.
It is basically a very thin wire of sorts that puts tension on the body so it can hang. The "scratch" isn't actually a scratch. It is simply a bare spot where the contact between the jig and body prevented the anodizing from penetrating.
This should have absolutely NO impact on the performance of the marker.
Ultimately...rest assured...if you play paintball...there will indeed come a point in time where you have legitimate scratches in the marker as there are moving parts that will cause it...or debris cling to the O rings etc that will cause scratches.
A perfect marker is a non-used marker.
Hope this helps. If you have any question or concerns...please don't hesitate to reach out to us at any point.
Thanks
