I used a friend's mini and an axe. I have used DLX, Dye, Proto, Bob Long and P.E as well. I would shoot an SLG or an epiphany over that uncomfortable little P.O.S of a mini. I realise there is more that just P.E out there but in the price range I would take an ETEK 3 AM over any other company. Just personal preference

look PE and dye have huge fallowings because there guns shoot very sismilar gun to gun because they both have alot more money for factory consistancy. nts all shoot the same for the most part. all ego11s shoot basically the same. were as minis dp and other mid low ends are more varied you can get one thats amazing for the price and one that is the worse mistake of your paintball carrer. highends are generally a lot better. for example shoot an slg vs dye nt. nt was modeled after slg platform but dye took more time enginering it and working out the kinks. if you shoot them side by side the nt will blow the slg out of the water. they dont have to be the most exspensive gun but it sure doesnt hurt.

i dont want to throw to high of a percentage out there, but likr 90% of them Mommy and Daddy buy them their gear, which is why they resale them so cheap and dont care...
but there are alot of kids out there that work for fields or other places and buy their own gear....

A poppet is a spring closed valve opened by a cam used in the auto industry, we then stole the term and used a 'ram' or similar to open the valve
the valve in this gun is hydraulic and uses air pressure to open/close. this is called a spool valve by definition.
there are all types of valves in the gun, the main moving bolt in the mini/axe is both 'poppet' and 'spool' operation by using spring tension to seal the breach but hydraulic pressure to open it.
in paintball the main valve that holds back the dump chamber from emptying down the bolt is what we usually classify guns by, ie in this case a spool.

I B/S/T on CL to make my money and I have a part time job. I get decent paint when I go out thanks to team pricing but I hate the rich little kids with 1300 dollar markers that suck and think they are good based on gear

my hopper (prophecy): I bought for 45 bucks. worked cleaning my neighbors house
my gun (geo+): dad bought my sypder sonix, traded that for wgp synergy, traded that for pmr 11, traded that for broken creed/ fixed it, traded that for geo+. all the cash i had to add came from reffing soccer games and mowing neighborhood lawns.
tank( DXS 68/45): mowed lawns. bought it for $60.
paint: shoot 3 cases a weekend, work delivering chinese food/ pizza locally.
other gear. i sell/buy, sell buy.

lets just say this. If 2 pro teams can shoot an axe, its obviously a great gun. a 400-600 dollar gun competing with NTs, DMs, Egos, and Geos, and doing well. May i say more pro teams shoot axes than vanguards or Luxes?

just goes to show, no matter how much people try to justify spending over a thousand dollars (usually even more), you wont convince me its really worth it to spend over $500 more.

I would never spend 1800 on a csl, but compaired to an ego11, you get the extras that make it worth it...
csl = you get the extra trigger and sl barrel kit
there are lots of reasons to spend the extra money but really none of them make your gun better or worse... guns are guns they all shoot 300fps...

while i agree axes are just mini's on roids, but ppl will use the bs that NJKilla used.. "Pro's use them" Pros use to use spyders also but it doesnt mean they are the best guns..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
bottomline is you get what u pay for... learn it love it live it....
this applys to everything in life..

I can't tell if you're joking or not. I actually own a CSL and nothing comes close to it (Mind you the ego and the CSL are the same gun with different milling) Don't ***** about how the more expensive guns are some how lesser than the other guns. And just by the way, all the high end guns are all excellent guns. It really comes down to personal preference and I find that P.E. guns work well for me, but for others I'm sure others prefer other brands. Opinions are like *******s, everyones got one.

but what makes me mad is when a kid gets a 45/4500 tank a dye rotor and a ego and they go out and get 4 boxes of paint and they sit in the back of the field.....most of the time these kids have gone and played paintball once then ask for the best gun they can get......which is stupid!

You jelly? Does it matter what the other guy is shooting. Just drop a few on em and you'll be fine. Besides things like that help keep stores and fields open.

Anything is better than a rental? Agreed yes.
Aside from that its all personal preference.
It takes one paintball to take them out, some need the $1800 marker for the swag/whatever. So whatever marker works for you!
