ICD PUMA & BOBCAT marker
Hi to all the Paintball Nation !
I’m French Guys, and I’m fan of this website.
Here under my problem :
I’ve got an Indian Creek Design ‘Panther’ (same as puma but in Europe) sleeping since 5 or 6 years in my cellar…
I’ve tested it with CO2 few years ago and it works very well.
Today I want to try to re-use it as back-up solution gun but with a Compressed Air Bottle that I used with another gun.
(I’ve also a Tippmann 98 and the place where I am playing only used Compressed Air)
I’ve recently verified all O-rings, put oil etc… everything seems alright.
Do you know if it is possible to use this marker with Compressed Air ?
Thanks in advance for your support.

Yes, you can use it with high pressure air. You must make sure you have a high pressure output tank first though. It needs at least 800psi. Also, I've found I had to turn in the spring tension up a bit more than normal.
If you are using a high pressure output HPA tank then try this.
Spring tension: (on back) Screw in 2-3 full turns
For recock and velocity turn screws all the way in
Recock: unscrew 1/2 to 3/4 turn
Velocity: unscrew 3 turns
Try that

Tuning a 'cat on HPA can be a real pain. I have had no luck at all getting my Panther to chrono well on it. Mine likes CO2 only. but, then again, I feed it what it likes.

Thanks all,
I've got an high pressure Tank. Today I'm not able to check if i Have 800 PSI but i will try later with a regulator.
I'v tried it yesterday like that and it seems working.
I think I just need to adjust all screws... I will do more test this week end on the paint field.
see ya

Couldn't you solve that with a stiffer mainspring?

I ran my old Puma, Alley Cat and Desert Fox (yes, I know blow-forward little diff) all on HP and never had any issues. Follow what the guy said above above your re-cock and Vel and you should be rocking! Man what I wouldn't give to have all three of those back still have two Thunder Cats sitting in my garage waiting for my kids to get a little older!!

What someone needs is this puppy. I just picked her up. Does not come with *****in' carryin' case. LINE-SI Promaster.
Yes. I know what it is. Despite the fact the marker is almost as old as I am.
Gun has never been aired up, it's NIB. Seriously. Guy I got it from was the original owner.

Not necessarily. These things are finicky as hell. Stiffer mainspring means more recock pressure which means you might not have sufficient pressure to recock even with the screw all the way out. I like ICD products a lot but I can see why they went under. None of their stuff was very user friendly.
