Falcon 4.0/Benchmarksims is an extremely accurate sim with a small but very active user base.

I don't play, because I have a life I'm busy living (which involves making and flying real planes), but my brother loves it.

Alternatively you could just get a copy of Lock-On and screw around.

It would be awesome to see a flight sim on one of the new engines out. It'd be gangster as **** to have a flight sim in a OpFlashpoint or Arma type "open world" setting. I'm pretty sure if that ever happened, I'd never be seen outside again.

i got FSX and installed REX but when i try to do the configurationmanager in the beginning,a soon as i choose my main folder i get an error message

"an error has occurred in real environment xtreme please view error log"

annnnd what do?

ps wheres the best place to dl the v2 update and OD?

You guys talking about modern air combat sims should try Lock On. It's a few years old but it is amazing.

nvm i found the error. anyways, ummm trying to run a restore in the initial back up but it can't create a folder. any ideas? also, research said that the service pack 1 has fixed this bug so anyone know where i can get that service pack?

alsooooo ehemmmm this game goes hard even without REX (unless its something i'm doing wrong.

nvidia geforce gtx 460m
core i7 2 ghz

i tried to put it on everything ultra with everything checked. what are the best settings to turn down that dont really take away from the scenery. i dont think my processor can handle everything ultra.

Got the game and installed it. At first I had no idea how to even get the plaine going. Watched the tutorial, literally took notes, and seem to be able to fly around now. Just need to figure out target acquisition, switching weapons, and landing... Then online play?

hey so if anyone can help me that'd be great.

REX od installed and it looks great (although i can't tell the difference in the terrain but i can everywhere else. water looks fantastic. um, my MASys wont work. everytime it launches i get an error that reads:

Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect, Version=10.0.61259.0, Culture=neutral. PublickKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The located assemble's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

and ill have to close the program.( just wavsys)

I have no idea what it means and I don't think I'm getting the correct clouds that REX od offers because it wont load into the systems. I've tried various types of clouds to see if i'd notice a difference and i dont. but i do for everything else.

also, second question, wheres the best place to get good aircraft. I see a lot of aircraft in the demo pictures for the themes in REX od that look awesome but aren't in the default FSX. so wheres the best place to download them? i had dl'ed a few before but they looked like ****.

i used to fly all the time, however time constraints have prevented me from flying as much as i like.. i used to use vatsim then decided it was too much of a pain, and stopped using it.

I always like Space Combat Flight sims (Freespace, Tachyon the Fringe) and of course games like IL-2 Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator.

I've played combat flight sims since Chuck Yeager's Air Combat (1991) and onwards.
My current poison is IL2 1946, haven't made the leap over to Cliffs of Dover yet due to the lack of available aircraft and bugs.
