dont waste money on standard stuff. Dont cheap out on sockets either. ive gone through many brands, mac, matco, craftsman, sunnex, the only ones that are worth spending money on are the snap on and SK. others have had issues with sk, maybe i got a good set but mine are 12 years old now, and the full metric deep and shallow set was one of the first things i bought.

all sockets will work, its just a matter of which break more, and how easy is it to get replaced. There will almost ALWAYS be a snapon rep anywhere in the country. others not so much.

If you're broke starting out and want something right away, Harbor Freight has sets of impacts that seem to work fine cheap. Lifetime Warranty, so if they really did break that often it'd be free to replace at HF.

Buy a harbor freight set, replace the ones you use the most with snap on singles.

That way you're covered for 1/8 the price.

Lots of things can trigger the stabilitrak light. Its tied into the ABS system so youll have to pull ABS codes. then we could go from there

anybody tuning into this on the 20th??

"Join us November 20, 2012 at 8 pm Eastern as Motor Age and TST return to the web for our last live webinar of 2012. Sponsored by Carter, this webinar will focus on testing the integrity of the entire fuel system using a scope, low amp clamp and pressure transducer. Learn how to test system parameters in a matter of minutes, rather than hours, using conventional methods. The webinar is, as always, free to attend but you do have to register."

i've seen a few webinars where they use pressure transducers and picoscope to diagnose vehicles. lot to learn from (at least for me).

Personally i love my Scope, i use a verus, i love scoping. I was gonna watch that webinar but now i think i will skip it. I already use a low amp clamp on the fuel pump fuse to scope the Fuel pump current. and i already current ramp injectors. and im perfectly fine with out the damn pressure transducers. they love those things. Ive found regular compression gauges and pressure gauges work perfectly fine

Side note. just ordered a Wi-tech. im pretty excited since we work on alot of jeeps.

dont have a scope for myself yet... but i've been thinking about investing in a laptop and a picoscope set up. but then again, i feel like its going to be a waste of money since my goal is to be a mercedes mastertech and once i start working at a mercedes dealer ill have access to hermann for scoping. my shop uses autologics. although it may not have scope capabilities it still is a great diagnostic equipment.

nice box btw... the risers really make your box feel like your "own" space haha. my coworker has a snapon box around your size with a riser and its badass (the orange box in pic with cayman). the box i have now is actually his old box. got that set up for $1200. killer deal imo.

Your own Pico scope at the dealer level will be VERY useful. most dealership eqipment is handles by monkeys and often doesnt work. I had to buy my own laptop/IDS setup when i worked at the ford dealership just to be able to have a reliable scan tool. when i left i sold them the tool. and 2 years later thats the onl woring netbook in the shop. I plan on buying a PICO in the next 6 months
