Yeah, you are right, I forgot about engine performance. I have 4 more years until I have to retest for L1, so I like to keep it out of my mind until then. Don't want to think about that test until I have to. End up having nightmares.

Putting that on the list of biggest pain in the *** jobs ever.
Torque converter clutch solenoid, both shift solenoids, and the pressure control solenoid on a 2000 monte carlo. Never, ever, EVER again. **** that job.

Just the solenoids? Shouldn't that have just been a 'drop the pan, take them out, put new ones in' affair? That trans is pretty close to the one we had to do in auto trans class. 4T65E, right? Or is it because of the obvious wheel hub removal there?

It's a 4t65e, but in the monte carlo it's right against the body. You don't drop the pan to remove them, you remove the side cover to access the valve body. That side cover is the biggest mother ****er, it's so tight in there. I had to cradle the motor, and drop the frame almost a foot. Even then I had to lower the motor and trans down below the body, and it was still tough to get out.
Not fun at all.

A month ago i got a Cummins 2500 in that was wrecked, I basicly rebuilt the whole front end then aligned it. Same truck came back in today and the guy ran if off the road again. He bent the dana axle in it, looks like more expensive work

I started my car this morning and the gas gauge didn't move so I figured it was the bobber, but after driving around for a little my MPG's gauge and temp gauge didn't move either. Possible sensor?
checked fuses, seemed okay

today was ****ing ****ty. Every now and then we get in these vehicles from the coal mines. We usually just do oil changes and tires on them but it's such a pain in ***. You get covered from head to toe in coal dust, then we don't even make much on it because it's an Enterprise fleet. Even though we're an independent firestone we have to follow the contract terms Enterprise fleets have with corporate firestone which means we can only charge 70/hr labor instead of our normal 96/hr, and we have to sell them tires at cost plus 10 dollars.

Diesel Technician. They are far and few between, at least around here. We literally have one place within a 2 or more hour radius. Law Enforcement is hard to get into now, and everyone's a auto technician. You will have time/money, but you'll probably lose the incentive. A friend of mine was just flown out here to Jersey from Colorado, a shop paid all his expenses and signed a 3 year contract with him. He drives a 06 3500 Single Rear Cummins, 9" on 38's. Has his house in CO, has a Vacation home in FL, and never heard him complain about anything money related. If you can do it right and get in the right places like him. You'll have it made.

The Iron had taught me how to live. Life is capable of driving you out of your mind. The way it all comes down these days, it's some kind of miracle if you're not insane. People have become separated from their bodies. They are no longer whole.
