New HPA tank not holding air?
Hello, I picked up a new 68 ci/4500 psi Empire fiber tank last week. I had it filled today and planned to give it as a gift w new marker to my step son. It seems that every hour that goes by since I filled it the needle on the gauge is moving slightly closer to empty. The tank was filled about 4 hours ago and went from 4500 psi to near 3,600 psi now. I don't hear any sound from the tank indicating a leak. I also own two Guerilla air 3,000 psi tanks. The gauges on these have never been accurate(always go to 2,500 psi when filled to 3,000). Could it be the Empire tank has the same problem?

When a tank gets filled it generates heat causing the gasses to expand, after the tank starts to cool ol down the gasses will contract causing less pressure to be in the tank.
To check for leaks though, slowly lower the regular into water and look for bubbles. Be careful though cause on the side of the guage is a small hole and water will get into if you lower it to far.

This. My ninja did this and it was leaking from the guage threads. Little bit of teflon tape on the threads. Never leaked again.

Thanks everyone. I think the theory of the heat expansion is what I am experiencing. The tanks did get warm when I filled them, I recall that. The Empire tank has also been holding at 3,500-3,600 psi mark. Glad this thing isn't defective, I'm excited to give this to the kiddo on Thursday. I'll post a pic of him and his new toy once he receives it.
I really want to note that I'm happy there's friendly people here. This is a pretty nice community. I'm part of a motorcycle forum and it is pretty sad how badly new riders get harped on when asking something novice. I'm happy that's not going on here.

Were always here to help
Unless of course your in small talk.
About your tanks... Fill them as slow as possible. Then they'll only drop 100-300 psi per fill.
