How do I start playing Tournaments and get ranked?

Getting back into playing, got my G6r and everything all loaded up.

When I get bored with playing recball and want to get back into tournament style play, what is the process?

Do I need to go find a team and then work it through them? Between my university and local fields, I'm sure I can find a team to play with. Back when I played we were the sponsored field team and would just play other field teams - I was curious what the actual "steps" were.

Thanks!

Get an APPA number if you dont have one....
If you dont have a team, APPA allows you to place your name on a Free Agent list for events...
Check the Regional forums for team try-outs in your area.
Go to the field as a walk-on on Open Play days... get noticed by teams.

Like everyone said, go to your home field. Look for flyers, etc and talk to players.

If nothing is going on at your home field. Then hit up the regional forum for your area and see what's going on. there will be a tryouts thread for your area.

u will need to be very talkitive and practice with your teams and better players than you play a match with them and then ask them what did i do wrong and how could i have done better get to know the fields the managers and the refs and the players that play there and getting sponsored go to your local field and ask them for a team thread and then make a agreement like help around the fields for free field time to practice with your team or gear for advertisement but dont get too greedy sponsors dont like that at all and when picking players you dont want the scale to overway what i mean is dont get all players better that you you want average player so you could learn at the same rate and get better there are tournament websites like this one http://www.paintball-players.org/cgi-bin/signup.cgi start small so you could build your way up to the big leagues and i mean the cheap ones tournaments often have rewards for winning these like cash or a trophy or gear and upgrades but you have to start crawling before you can walk hoped this helped
