Red Wine Nerve?

What's the difference between the regular red and red wine red? Anyone know? I already tried searching the forum but couldn't find much of anything.

never heard of a red wine nerve, photo may help verify what and if there is a difference.

I guess it's one of the colors they offered. I'm interested in seeing just what the difference between Red and Red Wine were when the guns were new. Here's a pic of someone with a red wine color.

Looks like a standard "red" nerve to me. Perhaps the guy is trying to say "red wine" as a selling point?

Man, it's hard to tell the difference but I think there is one. The red wine looks a little darker. I read some old posts about that color but couldn't figure anything out. I have two red nerves, but one seems a little more red. The hard part is just telling if it's anno fade or actually a different color. What's the serial number on yours?

lol, I love smart parts, but this comment made me laugh hysterically. I know EXACTLY what you mean by this statement.

Judging by the serial number statement (what is your SN Villian?) I would guess that red wine may be an "original release" color then. Perhaps the "second generation" nerves were changed from red wine to just plain Jane red.

I have 125 and 1945. Both red in color, but no idea what the original boxes said. The 125 seems to be a darker red, but I swapped over verticle regs to try and tell the difference and I'm just not sure lol. Maybe the 125 is more glossy, but it's super hard to tell because my other verticle reg is for sure faded. The pic I posted up top on here looks quite a bit darker than my later model red nerve, #1945 but it's still super hard to tell just because I can't see the difference in person. Pictures always get colors wrong, so who knows. If Taggrat's nerve box really says Red Wine then maybe it does exist. Or maybe someone just added wine to the name lol. Who knows?

Hmm, perhaps my above statement is correct then? so called "first gen" nerves were red wine, being a darker color. Then after the initial release they changed from red wine to just red. This is actually bugging me a little bit lol.

I believe that the first run was all "red wine" and were a darker red color. Once Smart Parts started offering the other colors (Pewter, blue, black) then the red changed to a brighter red. For some reason I remember hearing that from Tim Jenkins, who was playing for Philly at the time. I could be wrong also since I'm going off of memory.

I could see that being the case. I used to have a hard copy of their catalog from the year the introduced the Nerve, and I remember it being a darker color red in the photo's as well.

Just an update but I recently bough s/n 145, and it too seems to be the darker red..aka..red wine. It seems like I've been on a red nerve buying spree, I have 3 of them now!
