Ditch the AMD CPU and grab a 2500k. You don't need a sound card, most mobos have a good enough output to skip a soundcard unless you actually need some hi-fi output for an expensive sound system. Then you should grab something better anyway.

The 560 is good, but that CPU was outdated even 2 years ago. I'm sorry this is in the mail already. It'll work fine, but not the best idea right now.

Meh, I'll be upgrading when I get deployed. I figured it'd be a decent CPU for a mediocre intro level PC.

He's actually right. At this time you are investing enough to get mid- high range performance. But the AMD CPU will bottleneck your GPU; already making the system obsolete . You should scrap the soundcard and put that towards an i5 Sandy [2500k] and you'll be future proof for at least 2 years.

Otherwise, you'll be bottlenecking your videocard with the phenom.
