PSP Chicago Layout released

So will teams play this layout faster? Or will it be the same defensive game we saw last event?

no home bunker again and an old school style snake. What's that temple doing on the d side and the d doing on the snake side? this field looks like fun

My god, let's hope not. Most of the games at MAO were a goddamn snoozefest.

I think the placement of the mini-races and pins in the middle is meant to encourage players to make the 50 quickly and stay there, hopefully this will lead to quicker matches, but I'm not holding my breath.

I dunno. there's not any bunkers you can use to hang out in past the 30 or so of each side unless your'e on the tape line.

You should watch the latest episode of PB real talk, he says its the RaceTo format and not the layouts.

This lay out looks... interesting to say the least. Looks like it will be really hard to get into snake.

Joey also wants the rules to change so his well funded defensive team has the greatest advantage possible.

Whatever TBD does with the layout is fine, it's not like the are exploiting it. The layout isn't supposed to be played the same way by every team.

Haha, not at all. I like Tampa Bay Damage and I've known Joey for well over a decade. We even used to work together. However, they are the reason we have slow professional paintball. They are just that good at it that they can slow nearly any team in the world down. And Joey would never propose anything that would jeopardize his team's success. If Joey could manipulate rules to giving his team an advantage, of course he would do it. Even he won't deny that. He wants to win.

Of course they are exploiting it. They intentionally walk the field slowing it down because they know other teams will get impatient and make mistakes giving TBD the game. The problem is that more and more teams are playing defensively and that's boring to people watching.

Exploiting? It's just playing to win, and it's within the rules.

John you are a special kinda guy.

If that were the case what would it matter if it were race to or halves? Oh it wouldn't pole all the pro's bet they all want half style not race to. What does well funded have to do with anything? You realize we are not even in the top 3 funded teams?

Joey

Going to be very hard to make the corner tape bunkers on this layout. Lanes are going to be killer.

Thanks John, you beat me to it. Damage is the most defensive, slow-playing team in the Pro division right now.... Which is interesting, because it hasn't helped them win any titles so far this year (though they have definitely come close).

I'd love to see Damage try just one match being aggressive instead of defensive. With all the technical skill they have, I bet it would work out well for them and be really entertaining to watch as well. Aggression + technical skill = great paintball.

What's with the pins? What kind of games can we expect with those?
