How would this gun work with JT Toxin AKA RPS Stinger? Its only stuff we get around here except at competition time. Also how will it shoot out of the box? Will it shoot bad until i get atleast 10 cases threw it?

Shoots great out of the box. The last three we got in two chronoed at 210 and one at 285. Adjusted to two low ones and off we went.
All three DX's played that entire day without trouble in sub freezing temps. I personally had zero breech or barrel breaks that day.
My consistancy for the day was good. Everytime I chronoed it I never saw a shoot slower than 276 or higher than 289...those fluctuations could easily been attributed to the cold.

Paint is paint. If it is round and not frozen it will shoot fine. The DX is pretty gentle on paint and should be able to shoot everything from rec grade to high end tourny shell stuff.

i had FSDO problem with my drone DX out of the box. cleaned and relubed the drive train, the problem still persist. Changed the battery, still persist, upped the dwell until 9ms, first few shots still low, after that shots fine. Raised the ABS until 5 the problem still persist. I will try relube it lightly again, will see how. to be honest, i do not know what else to do. I guess its normal with spool valve marker.

How many shots are low when you first shoot? Is it 1 or more?

Jinx18,

One, or two, sometimes three or four..but my finding was the battery (which is provided by MacDev) and old lube when I first got.

I changed to one time used battery (energizer), one shot was FSDO. I cleaned up again the militia lube, lightly put monkey poo, changed the new fresh battery (energizer), and voila, the FSDO was gone.

However, I did not have a chance yet to use the Drone DX using the real paint, as I am too busy now. I just tested it with reball in my place. So far so good.

Thanks for your concern anyway. Cheers!

The discussion in post three above tells how to deal with fsdo. It is caused by the bolt sticking. Proper lube with militia lube, fresh battery, and a clean bolt all contribute to making sure it is working right. In colder weather, lube thickens, making any fsdo problem worse. I played in 15 degree f weather last Saturday and had to wipe the bolt down twice during the day. Bits of paint were getting onto the bolt tip and stopping it from moving. The dxs paint was leaving a residue on the bolt tip, and the very brittle and cold paint would break occasionally and the pieces would stick to the bolt. These are not a problem specific to the drone, but with summer paint and any marker in weather below freezing.

Boomer,
thanks for your info, yeah, I agree with you, sometimes it is user error, or other factor such as battery, lube or paint.

I will try with real paint later on, so busy nowadays.

cheers.

Managed to shoot with real paint today, 3000 psi fill, one bag and one pod of paint finished. Did not have a chrono though.

Shoots well, smooth. No hiccup no nothing.

Impressed so far.

Cheers.

Boomer is this a good beggining tourney marker? Is it dependable? I shoot like 1-2 cases of paint when i play should i lube it after every day of play? Also whats general maintenence like on the drone is it complicated?(never owned a spoolie before or any mid end gun) and last does MacDev give u some kind of aarranty?

Im not boomer but here is some info...

Is this a good beggining tourney marker?

Yes. I just purchased one and I play many tournaments. My normal guns I have shot have all been high models and I am seeing how this stacks up. I have a feeling it will do just fine. I have seen guys from Portland Uprising (Pro Team) shooting the Drone DX. Ill post more when I use it more.

Is it dependable?

It should be as it has a fairly simple drivetrain.

I shoot like 1-2 cases of paint when i play should i lube it after every day of play?

It is a good idea to clean and relube the bolt after each use.

Also whats general maintenence like on the drone is it complicated?(never owned a spoolie before or any mid end gun)

Maintenance should include removing drivetrain, wiping it down and relubing. Other than that just wiping the gun down and squeegeeing the barrel and other little things.

and last does MacDev give u some kind of aarranty?

"MacDev 2 Year Warranty
Your marker is covered by the MacDev 2 year warranty against manufacturing defects. Your marker is guaranteed free of manufacturing defects for a period of two (2) consecutive years beginning from the product release date. If a manufacturing defect is detected, the defective part will be either repaired or replaced at no cost to the owner. Your warranty does not cover damage due to theft, misadventure or operator error/abuse."

This marker can compete at any level of play. I personally use it over my clone, just because i can and because it doesn't make a difference how you can play. I used it again today in sub freezing weather, and it did great. The clone sat in the jeep. check out the maintenance video in post two of this thread. It shows how simple it is to maintain.

It says it in the manual but included are 3 orings. They are 2 bolt switch orings and a valve oring.

It will work fine with a low pressure or high pressure tank.
