Good starter mask?
I just bought my first marker a few weeks ago, A electro phenom. Now I am in need of a mask. What do you guys think a good mask is? I'm mostly a woodsball player, and I'm liking the look of the profiler. Anyone have any thoughts?

Grill are my current favorite. Havnt tried the Profilers but have heard great things.
Also recommend the Dye i3s. They are often compared to Profilers and I have one as my backup mask and love it.

I honestly do not believe there is something call a starter mask. Get the best mask money can buy so you don't have to buy another mask later on.

Ok, I'm trying to find some good used ones. Also, how hard is it to paint goggles? Because I see alot of bright red and blue, and even yellow for sale, but for woodsball I need something like olive or black.

2 words. Krylon.... Fusion.... Its a spray paint I use on all my masks. I put a few coats of black krylon fusion "for plastics" and its never chipped. cans are $4 each at walmart. Its quick, its easy. **** I could be a krylon rep.

It's not really a specific mask to look for just find any antifog mask thats gona last throughout your paintball interest. But stay away from cheap masks don't be afraid to throw some money for a mask.

i always tell new players to buy a quality mask BEFORE buying a new gun.
seen too many woodsballers dump hundreds of dollars on their milsim guns, then use a rental mask when they come out to play.
when u cant see u cant play, no matter how good ur gun is.
as far as a mask i recomend the grillz (i own 3 pairs myself)
- very good protection, good visibility, great style points, and good customization options.
also recomend the proflex (again, i own 2 pairs)
- amazingly comfortable, extreme customization, altho slightly less protection than grillz
stay away from i4's!!
- what u significantly gain in visibility, u greatly lose protection

I like the Grillz, I have one in green and tan. BUT I prefer the profiler as I have 2 of them in blue and another in grey. I also used the JT Proflex for the longest time before going over to the profiler. Dye/Proto masks seem to be smaller in size and so don't have the coverage that others do. At least that is a problem I had with them. I would suggest trying the mask on before you buy one to see how comfortable it is for you and you also get an idea of vision you have with it. I'm also one with Cubakka, I tell new players to invest in a good mask first cause without it, you can't use that nice marker you carry on the field.
