Not really. i've been shot many times on the camera and on the lens of both my Contour-HD and the Contour-HD 1080P.

I don't use the waterproof housing for recording in paintball, so both the camera's are out in the open all the time and have been for about 2 years (Contour-HD) and a little over 1 year (1080P model).

A Contour-HD can give you 3,5 hours of recording time (that's what I get on average per battery), and you can simply swap the battery for a full one.

That Replay camera is limited to less than two hours recording time, and then you need to recharge the internal battery, which will likely make you miss a lot of the paintball going on around you while you wait for the camera to be ready to record again.

How much time is actually spent playing in a game. Maybe a tourney player will spend that much time actually recording, but I would not. When you walk out of a game, turn it off. I'd be really surprised if I ever come that close to 2 hours of actual play time in any given day. I'll take the smaller form factor over the other choices. Besides, you're going to take a 5-10 minute break between games at some point, throw it on a charge and it's taken care of?

Although I doubt that you will manage to recharge the camera in such a short amount of time (usually you're talking about 1,5 hours of charging time for such a battery), it might be possible if you record very little and have a lot of time to recharge it.

Personally, I get about 6 to 8 hours of play every day during a Big Game, and maybe 5 during a normal walk on day. Having said that, I don't play speedball very often, and usually play scenario or woods games.

I'm the opposite. I play speedball once a week or once every other week with my son. Games are about 5-10 min long and we're there for maybe 2 hours. Plenty of time to shut the camera off in-between games. Perfect for my scenario.....

get the handlebar mount and put it up sidedown, then cange the settings so you film upside down.

Anyone have good settings for using a GoPro with that Helmet strap, sadly had to convert over since my contour gave me brown lines in my recordings.

I have a bunch of gameplay vids with my Contour HD. Mostly pump play and also some airsoft play. Camera is mounted on the right side of my Profilers.

Is it just me, or is there feedback or something? Sounds like a fan or something running right next to the camera....

Nope, that's the good ole Contour hiss. Seems like all HDs are plagued with it.

That sucks. GoProHD FTW! No hiss at all, just sub par audio quality when at concerts with the bass ripping through you. >.>

The newer Contours don't have the hiss I believe.

I figured, sounded like a loader cause it changed pitch every time you shot.
