How to modify a Cyclone Feed System for the Alpha Black, pics inside
I've done about a dozen of these with no problems. I've gotten a bunch of requests for pictures so I took some today.
The modification is pretty easy. You just need to remove some of the plastic on the 98 Cyclone Feed System (CFS).
Here is what the CFS looks like right out of the box:
Putting it on the Alpha Black shows that it won't fit because the body of the Alpha isn't cut out for it:
You can see in comparison of the first picture that the CFS is rounded while the Alpha area id more pointed:
In drawing a small "template" you can see that there isn't a lot of plastic that needs to be removed:
I used a small High Speed Steel Cutter in my Dremel to remove the extra plastic. I take off some then try it on the gun. I make it a tight fit so it doesn't "flop around". You can use a file to fine tune the fit if you need to.
Here's what it looks like after it's done.
Enjoy!
Dan

they shouldve made it with an R/T, and a removable sight rail
o well, so they made a port for the cyclone, but didnt make a cyclone feed upgrade that would fit it?

I don't see why it would, your not modifying anything on the actually marker just the cyclone adapter. Tppmann has great customer service and they are usually very helpful when you need them. One of my 98cs has been out of warranty for about 5 years and I probably could get parts for it if I needed to.

In talking with the guys at Tippmann it should not void the warranty.

LOL I'm an Administrator. We have white text with italics.
Tippmann is working on it. Presumably they will modify the mold and rebrand the packaging.

Just a guess, they probably wanted to see how the AB's were selling before investing any more money into upgrades or they may have also just wanted to get the marker out asap.

Do you have to have the alpha black/bravo one E-grip to add the cyclone feed system?
