This.

Not to mention the line of future Gooses standing around waiting for their turn when the jet respawns.

Cod makes me rage more but I find BF bores me easier.
I've always liked playing a faster paced fps with bunnyhoppers and quickscopers. I feed off 12 year olds screaming at me.

COD is great to just jump in, run and gun game, and jump out.

Battlefield, the true BF games, is more about large scale epic team battles. 32v32 objective gameplay with jets, tanks, various land vehicles, boats, etc. Huge maps, a bit more of a tone on the realism side of things (as far as physics, movement, etc... not so much impact/damage).

So, to me, they're different completely.

Having said that. BF3 is going to destroy MW3 in terms of the experience. The new game engine, alone, is amazing to the point it makes previous games look like a joke graphically.

Some guy on a diff forum went to the Gamestop Managers conference in Vegas this year and said everyone left the conference feeling like they were going to need to make sure they had a healthy stock of Battlefield 3.

He said they expect MW3 to crush BF3 in presales, but BF3 to end up beating MW3 in total sales from word of mouth and people playing it at a friends and ****ting bricks.

If BF3 somehow does end up beating MW3 in total sales, I want to see the look on Kotick's face.

Not really. There are a few games on the market right now with pretty great graphics. Just because this game will be the best does not mean it's just this huge update that nothing compares to.

I'm pre-ordering BF3 within the next week for sure. MW3... not sure if I'm going to get it. I'm trying to resist buying it when it comes out but every damn one of my friends bandwagons the series. I've always found myself enjoying the BF series more because it's more realistic other than the graphics, which are still very good and aren't bad in the least, COD's is just slightly better. I'm not saying BF3 is realistic, just not that "OMG WHAT A NOOB HE HARDSCOPED ME" everytime my kill feed shows up with a sniper kill and the person killed watches the killcam.

lolol its never going to happen.

They could just re-release cod4 with new maps and it would outsell BF3

They could just revamp the graphics on any cod and it'd be an instant bestseller.

Alright, we're going to compare the largest releases from each franchise: Battlefield 2 to Battlefield 3 (which is the real comparison anyway), and Call of Duty 4 to Modern Warfare 3.

Modern Warfare 3:
New, varied, and customizable kill streak awards
Introduction of Survival Mode
Prestige rewards (takes away the symbolic purpose of Prestige...)
Removal of Last Stand
Can't have shotgun as secondary weapon
Player controlled UAVs
Introduction of pay-to-view-stats
Slightly updated version of the CoD4 engine
One new game mode: a version of dogtag-stealing
New weapons, including un-used or experimental weaponry

Battlefield 3:
Introduction of Rush (I don't remember if it's still called that) game mode.
Introduction of extensive environment destruction
Introduction of weapon leveling (stolen from Call of Duty)
Introduction of vehicle customization, individual to each vehicle if I read correctly
No commander
No defined squad leader (Again, haven't completely kept up)
New maps (Not all are revealed yet, I don't think)
Scope glint, to help locate really dug-in snipers
Vaulting
Suppression system
Health and Ammo boxes are placed now, instead of limply tossed
Weapons may now have attachments
New arsenal of weapons reflecting modern use of weaponry (very few experimental weapons, mostly Army/Spec-ops issue)
Deployable bipods for LMGs
Sniper rifles will now sway while scoped in to prevent quick-scoping
New, free Battle Log feature to keep track of stats, find and keep up with friends, and organize games.
Vehicles now become disabled instead of instantly destroyed. There's a chance to get them back up and running, but they can't move until repaired, and will explode if not repaired
Man-portable Anti-Air (I saw the Stinger listed among the weaponry available to infantry)
Introduction of being able to spawn on certain vehicles (They should have done it 2142 style. Only on APCs...)
Introduction of an actual campaign

Off the top of my head (And with research for MW3), those are all the things that I could come up with. Granted, it looks like BF3 is trying out things from Call of Duty that made it appeal to the lone wolf audience. I don't personally support that move, which is why I haven't pre-ordered it.

N-Ur-Face asked for evidence to be provided. I had the time to do it, so now I'm involved.

MW3 looks like it's trying to return to its roots in Call of Duty 4, but they're trying desperately hard to make it even more lone-wolf friendly, like they WANT teamwork to fall apart.
This is from someone who has as an unbiased opinion on games as it gets. You just have to know him to understand this.

Also understand that both sides of this have issues. In particular, on a quick glance, you can notice BF3 gets attributed with new maps but MW3 doesn't. Small **** like that ya know?

My post to respond to this basically said "can we not conclude that MW3 does, in fact, release new content? And that BF3 is, more or less, actually only releasing roughly as much new content (besides the graphics engine) as MW3."
