This game is kickass as fuuu. Ostfront was good, a little to slowpaced for me because I was used to Battlefield2(2005). HOS is right where I want it. Can't wait to see some bigger maps.

"RO2 Beta Update Changelog - September 2
We're going to be rolling an update to the beta out shortly. Here is the changelog for your perusal:


- Turned on Speedhack detection and added a system to allow server admins to decide what to do with a player when they are detected using a speedhack (kick, session ban, or permanent ban).
- Fixed PreStartDuration not working properly which caused the round to start prematurely after a map change.
- Fixed getting stuck with a zoomed FOV when using grenades
- Added ability to turn off anti-aliasing
- Fixed floating meshes when a player dies
- Fixed destructibles not updating their shadows when destroyed
- Fixed DOF inside tanks
- The ranked server system is now operational
- Player progression stats are now saving and loading
- Unranked servers are now showing up as unranked in the browser
- Realism modes are hooked up and functional
- Killing a tank now gives extra points based on the number of players in the tank
- New map list: Gumrak, Grain Elevator, Barracks, Red October Factory
- Team balance changes. Commanders and top scoring players no longer get team swapped on death. The role select menu will not appear immediately to make it more obvious that you have died. Also, fixed a bug where an axis soldier could spawn on the allied team or vice versa.
- Fixed some HUD icons sticking around on the screen
- Fixed Countdown ending with time still on the clock
- Fixed automatically firing your weapon sometimes when respawning
- Fixed some issues with scoring in Firefight and prevented running out of reinforcements in this game type
- F10 will now cancel a pending server connection properly when stuck on a loading screen

Thank Christ for these.

Spawned as an assault today, gun started firing for no reason and killed a bunch of folks, I got mad because I thought it was my mouse ****ing up, and I was tired of getting team switched 6 times a game just because I was doing well.

Definitely the best multiplayer game in the past couple years. Thank god for the grenade zoom fix. I was raging so much since I run and throw nades as it gives you better distance on the throw. Plus you can run up stairs, chuck a nade at a corner, and hide quickly like you can in reality.

Now if they would just change the MP40 and Ppsh recoils to the realistic version. Just need someone with nfa stuff to demo to the guys working that bit of th egame so they can make it more spot on. Still, 3-4 round bursts from the ppsh work well


I just wish they would get hit detection working better. Although I suspect it has more to do with teh ****ty volunteer srevers that are running and have so much srever lag.

I'm honestly reconsidering buying BF3 at this point, primarily since it'll require a bit of a machine overhaul to play.

Why spend ~$400 for a shooter when I've got a great one in front of me that's already paid for? I know I'll pick it up eventually because I'm sure it's gonna rock, I'm just thinking more and more about holding off.

hope to find a few servers with active admins soon. So tired of **** players taking the marksman class, getting 4 kills then going afk. I haven't even had a chance to play as a sniper yet, instead I have to shoot people at 200+ yards with irons.

The map with the open courtyard is so OP with a sniper. I think on the Allies side you can camp inside one of the buildings upstairs and you can poke around the corner with a flag covering half of you. Godmode for sniper.

Plus the sniper scopes are like they really are if you've used the real ones from that era --they're pretty poor.


The K98 has better irons for longer range as the front sight post is more sharp but the mosin nagant's is wide and helps for closer work.


what makes little sense to me in this game is how much recoil the ppsh41 has. They are rather soft shooters irl and have little muzzle climb. It's bad that they have nerfed it to require 2-3 shot bursts before the muzzle goes to the sky. So far all other guns ahve been spot on without mentioning the LMGs which are stupid innacurate when put on a bipod.

I'm having rage fits over the respawning system. I never have any idea when I'm going to respawn, and sometimes (too often) I don't respawn...I just stay dead... and this isn't countdown, I'll see waves of my guys respawn. Anger.
