This is the conclusion I came to as well. I don't exactly have enough time to devote to two games, so I'm not sure if I'll actually get both. Beta will make up my mind. If its too srs mode I might just get MW3 like a scrub. I need something mindless right now.

ya know i could actually agree with this. i obviously am getting BF3 for PC but if/when I do eventually buy mw3 it will most definitely be for either ps3 or 360..... or both.
i feel like paying about $200 for 2 video games is ridiculous lol
If MW3 gets dedicated servers on PC I'll really consider getting it because I love to run and gun on smallish maps. The only thing then that would make me not buy it are the kill streak perks. I hope if they get servers, they'd be able to chose to leave off killstreaks. I can deal with the normal perks, but killstreak stuff annoys the bejesus out of me

I know this is going to sound gay, but this has been my experience with the server thing.
Make sure the title of the server is an accurate representation of what will be going on in the server.
If you start a server,Make a plan for it and stick with it. If you are going to make a server thats a 24/7 then leave it that way. Dont allow people to change it. If you are going to allow voting map changes, then make sure people are just picking what maps they want and not voting. STICK TO YOUR PLAN.
Start a clan, group, people, SOMETHING. If you want a server thats going to get played on you need fair rules and people with loyalty to your server. You need consistant people who are around and playing so that people who are cheating or just being *******s in the server can be kicked out. The best servers you see are servers that are policed often and FAIRLY. Some random asshat friend you have that wants to be admin then does stupid **** will drive people away.
One of the best servers ive played on was texas team players which changed to team players. They were a group that had many small sub "clans" that ALL played on their server. A 64 person server that had 62 people and 2 reserve slots from 10am to 2am. It was ALWAYS full. They stuck with a simple plan. Anything goes in the game so long as its not cheating and you were in a squad. They forced team work on you which over time you get to know people who play on that server and you keep going back. You could baserape, you could ram, you could do whatever. Just as long as you were in a squad and you werent cheating. It worked, people loved it. The servers that tried to make all these rules and enforce them rarely worked because you just couldnt enforce them.
