Oh no, the world will end. I mean 2012 and all it just makes sense that this would be the cause.

Good point. Hadn't thought about it like that.
So, I guess it actually will be the end of the world. And I'm alright with that.

they cant play since there are more than 4 of them that are d2. and why doesnt breakout just put in teams for ncxl anyway. the best practice is to play other teams in a tournament setting.
and personally with d2 going 1-3 d4 going 1-3 and mayhem going 0-4 id say the teams being scrimmaged with could get changed up a little. because something isnt going right at all these mandatory practices.

Think of it this way, money spent at nationals on things such as plane tickets, hotels for days, high entry fees, high paint prices and all the other expenses that come with national events can be used to fund other things like team paint for practice that will last for points and drills all day instead of just for a few hours. You may also have enough money left over to have 2-day practices that last all day and really get your grind on.
Also, when times get tough and the weather gets way too hot (middle of the season for most players) it will be easier to give a little slack on the practice regiment, which will be easier on people's funds thus potentially keeping the team together for a longer period of time.
If everybody in the region does this and plays against each other, the competition will grow exponentially in quality so when we go to national events we can wreck house like we used to back in the day.

M* has never (as far as I know) sought out to win, or even compete/do well at an event. From what I can tell, it is a group of e-friends who get together to have a good time at events. If the bar you are trying to surpass is set by that group, you are worse off than anyone thought.
As much as I typically disagree with Nicks strategy for winning. In this case, I don't.
There simply is not any substitute for playing tournaments that is going to get a team (or individual player) better, faster. You can practice day and night for a week, but there is simply no substitute for actually being in the high pressure situation of being in a match with your teammates, with money on the line, at an actual event. Winning is a lot more than individual or fundamental skill. Wining events requires the right attitude on the field as well as in the pits, the right coaching and encouragement between matches, and above all else, the right mental attitude. That last bit is something that simply can not be practiced. It is achieved and becomes recognizable by earning your stripes and fighting your way to the podium. Winning teams know they are going to win before they ever fire their first shot in finals. It is an attitude among players and organizations that is bred by winning and having confidence in ones self and ones teammates.
As a team who is trying to be successful, and having the opportunity to affordably play an actual tournament against competitive local teams, it is completely beyond me as to why you would rather put your money and efforts into a day or two of drills/practice. The absolute worst case scenario is what? That you find out that your team is better than the rest of the competition and you get your first win of the season? That bonding experience would far surpass what you could accomplish in a weekend of practice IMHO.

I agree on the mental aspect part of it, however, there is no substitute for a good practice regiment in my opinion. I can definitely tell tournament to tournament whether my snapping or laning skills need to be polished or not. Knowing what to do in the clutch can only come from experience.

I think even Bruce would agree that tournament experience can help a team prepare for a tournament. The reason the Breakout teams did so poorly however came down to fundamentals. Fundamentals that are easier to fix while breaking down play during a traditional practice.
With that said, he doesn't need to defend his practice schedule to any of you. Especially those of you with financial gain to be had.
Since were on the subject and were in the tuf thread I'll go ahead and give my opions too. Since were all just saying stuff that doesn't really matter anyway.
NCXL is a joke and no team will get better competing in it. You have way too much to fix before coming into any thread and trying to tell a team they should play your tournaments instead of practice. PBC 3mans are run more professional and go smoother than your ****show. It blows my mind how much you're slacking and messing up something with so much potential. Maybe the problem is you don't care and don't want to put any more effort into it. Be honest with yourself and see if you can argue. No one here can give a truthful response saying anything other than the last event was a joke from beginning to end.
Fix your events and maybe coaches like Bruce would be more inclined to put teams into it.
