k24 civic build Pics,vids

I know most of you dont go in the honda forum so here ya go.


I copy and pasted this out of my build thread on another forum so some it might be pointless to you.




the car was a bolt on stage 2 cam k20a that ran strong for 4+ years running sub 12.5 passes consistantly. made easily over 100 passes at the track and there was not a day the motor didnt see 8800 rpms or the rev limiter when it was driven.


one day it just decided to say it was done. broke a valve cruising some through some twisties.



biggest piece of piston left. made its way to the oil pan lol.


so heres what i was left with. a downed ek and a k20a with nothing lol. cracked block, cracked oil pan, f'ed up head.



so the goal was to have the baddest all motor street car around. have it responsive and powerful so I could drive it around comfortably and throw slicks on it and run some good times.


Engine was built by suja 1 in chicago

SPECS
Carrilo rods
Cp XL 12.5 pistons 87.5
4 Piston 156 cnc
supertech valves, springs, retainers, keepers
Drag cartel stage 4 cams
HR 74mm TB
ASP 4-1 megaphone header
Comp super single
Full race pro am traction bars
Replaced the full size koyo i had to run a pass side ktuned rad to run a vstak intake in the grill at some point.

First start up. fired right up

final numbers from last night after only 10 pulls


Alex(tuner) wants me to drive the motor to loosen it up and then try some new things like a 4 inch intake. maybe the motor has a few more hp left in it while still utilizing the oem intake manifold.


heres how it sits now finally at home in one piece again.



cleaned the car now i need to clean the garage.

Is it a track car now? How far off the ground is that intake?

its more of a track car then ever but its still a "street car". itll be driven to the track ect and for spirited street driving.


the intake has plenty of room. its right in the air flow path.

Question , why did you want this to be all motor again ?

I know why some rx7 guys go with the 3 rotor and keep it NA but I can't really understand why your going NA for a drag car with this tiny motor ?

because NA power is way better power IMO. especially for fwd. traction, throttle response, power delivery ect,

turbos in hondas a good for drag racing on the track and thats it.

Oh so you have plans other then dragging with it ?


The only reason I asked is because I was thinking you could get similar times with a boosted engine or even a wet 100 shot for less money . Rarely have I heard of people wanting NA power in small displacement engines ( hondas , Mazda, vws ect )

I think you underestimate what 300whp of na power is like in a 2100 lb car.

I will probably never own a turbo Honda. Have no interest in it really. You lose all response and control that I love to have. The motors are too small to make big power and have the throttle response to go with it.


And crushing turbo cars na is pretty cool to.

Not really, ALS isn't DD compatible and gives host to traction problems again.
