Event #4 Status

After long and careful consideration and discussions, we are going to POSTPONE the GPL/MAPL Event #4 to September 17th/18th because of Hurricane Irene. This decision did not come lightly however it had to be made because we are thinking about the best interest and the safety of our players, families and staff. We chose this particular weekend based on the holiday and other local field events. As we know this may not ideally be the best weekend however this is all we had to work with. We consulted with the EPL as well who is also moving their event due to the same issues and they have also agreed that this is in the best interest of all of our players and their families. But this does not mean we don’t have a lot in store to make up for this change. We have a lot of great things planned. Stay tuned Monday to hear what we have in store.

Any team that is unable to attend the revised date will be issued a refund. I will be personally calling each captain to inform them of this change. I do ask please be patient if you have not received a call. I have a lot of people to call including staff and vendors. Also I work a day time job as well so it is hard for me to call during the day.

so both 3-man and 5 man are cancelled?

It is POSTPONED to Sept 17/18. Not Cancelled. We can not run one and not the other because that (a) would cause double expenses on our end with staff and travel and (b) there are quite a bit of teams and players who play both days. If we ran just 3man no and 5man later, these players would have to incur two hotel fees, two gas fees, and so on.

I understand. I was just trying to clear that up since you said only the 18th.

Thanks for the info, I am sure it was a difficult decision and a no win situation. You would have guys complaining if you had it and complaining about when you moved it. I certainly hope our schedule allows us to attend the next one. Thanks for the update.

Yes we do understand there are a few teams this will affect, we deeply apologize for that. We had not other weekends other that this coming holiday weekend and that is never good because of family vacations people take.

We are however, going to adjust the rule for the overall standing and we are going to drop the lowest score that counts towards the overall standings. This event then would be your drop.
