Nub looking for team
so i've been paintballing once, which was woodsball but my real attraction is speedball. i want to get into the sport but i would like to be picked up by a team that can teach me the basics and one in which i can grow in, even other players that wouldnt mind having a sidekick . im located in the New York City area. im a dedicated person, have reliable transport, 21 years old and as for gear all i have is the Dye i4 mask. Havent bought any other gear bc i was given advice to really get to see the sport first b4 i take a dive in. all in all if any takers message me at Ksandoval.com@gmail.com Thank you

Are you in college? If so, join your school team (or start one). If not, check at your local field or look in the regional forums.

You can look into contacting any of the local teams. In the Regional section of the forum you will find pages (threads) specific for teams in the area

will do. im a able to post up my story or just look through the threads and see the availability?

Just go out and play more, regardless of whether you have someone to go with or you go by yourself. You will meet new people, make new friends and learn a lot more if you just take the first steps of going out there and getting your toes wet, so to speak. At this point, playing and getting to know people are the most important things to do.

Serious teams may be reluctant to take on a completely new player as a full member. However, what I'd recommend, go to your local field and play, and if you happen upon a team you get along with, you could ask if you could come to some of their practices.

This. For now just work on getting your basics down and getting as much playing time as possible. Once you become a regular at the field you'll get the lay of the land and which players/teams you jive with etc.
Then it's just a matter of [politely] asking if you can do a little work with them. Stay humble, work hard and learn as much as you can. Most teams don't mind having the extra body to run drills and basics with, which is what you probably want to focus on if you're just starting out. As you're around more and your skills progress you'll get your chance to roll with one team or another.

you could self teach yourself with videos such as dynasty dysected dvd volumes 1 and 2
http://www.ansgear.com/ProductDetail...DDVD& click=8
http://www.ansgear.com/ProductDetail...2DVD &click=8
.
And DerDer's xplained
http://derder.com/zenzen/index.php?m...roducts_id=182
. these are great to learn the basics before joining teams. You should play at your local field with some walks on to better develope your skills. If you feel your up to date with all of this just ask to practice with a team or keep playing agianst a team and in time they might pick you
up.
arena paintball is setting up a drill room that specifically for improving your basic fundamentals in the sport. i would go down there once the room is finished to practice. Practicing drills with help your game so much
hope this was helpful for you payce
