wonderboy a1 breech torn at hinges!
this is seriously a nightmare for me. i was playing ball and took a dive got up and realized my breech was open and the bolt was gone. found the bolt on the field, and while i was cleaning my gun i saw the the aluminum was basically torn by where the pin goes in.
the only things i could think of doing are either get a regular color breech and ano the whole gun another color or sell it for cheap and buy another a1 fly
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

The picture isn't loading for me, but depending on how torn, you may be able to flex the aluminium back in shape and pray for the best. (worked on my Dark G7 way back when) If you can find a used breech block that may be your best answer. Or you can sell it, but with an issue like that, it will be a challenge to sell.

Remove the set screws behind the pins that the rotobreech pivots on, then thread a 2mm screw into the pivot pins (they are female threaded on the ends) and pull them out.

how did you go about doing this? I've got an fly that I destroyed the breech on and now its just sitting in my bag. I'd love to get a sb body instead of buying a whole new marker

That's gonna be outrageous to get that done still..... It's a real shame. You could probably buy one new/used for what machining a new one would cost.

I think that was his reply about the quote of the price of a SB body.

Any chance you can post pics so we can see how bad the damage is? There may be a solution that I have in mind if it's not too bad.

Drilling it out and using a length of metal tube for an insert *might* work.

It could work. But being off by the slightest bit could tear body mounts then. Very risky but doable.

There's a specialty brazing rod that allows you to weld aluminum using a propane torch. Since it uses relatively low heat it could possibly be used to fix the tear if the base metal can be reshaped to a usable state. You would have to strip the anno in the affected area before doing the brazing and it might take quite a bit of polishing to get the breech to the point were it won't show through the anno.
