Baltimore/Washington area players question

Curious to know if there would be enough interest in the area to charter a bus to go do some of the away big games like Oklahoma D day or west point or living legends?
How much would you pay for a round trip seat?
Would you be interested in packaging lodging?
Package meals?

trying to find the threshold to see if we can put some trips together.

Thanks

I have to make the trip from DC to West Point every time I come back to school. It might be cheaper to just meet up in D.C, ride a Bolt bus or other similarly cheap bus to NYC, then take the Metro North to Garrison, which is right across the river from West Point. From there, its a relatively cheap taxi ride to Stewart Airport to get rental cars

Just need a place to organize and or get ourselves together. I would definitely be willing to come and join in the fun.

You hit on part of what I am trying to find out. My feeling is that given an easy option (one planned out for you) that a lot of local players would be interested in traveling to some of the big away games. The other big advantage is that we go as group and so for players like me who don't play on a team there (hopefully) is a sense of team and camaraderie.
One example that comes to mind is living legends in Chicago.
The drive is about 10hrs. we could have a bus leave friday after work and arrive Saturday morning letting someone else worry about the driving. Then Sunday after the game head home and arrive early Monday morning. This minimizes the work disruption saves wear and tear on cars and drivers and allows for some "bonding". That must be worth something? If going by myself I would end up flying which is not cheap especially with a car rental thrown in.

For trips like that, you really want to get there at the very least, a full day in advance. People are going to want to check out the place, walk the fields and see whats going on.

Some of us have to work, and can't really take multiple days like that. It's hard enough to get away for the long weekend. Start a facebook group? We already have one called Nova Paintballers, pm me your fb info and I'll add you. A local guy named Jesse Macky runs the group and it could serve as a place to collect ourselves.

We make the drive to west point twice a year. If you want to carpool, pm me. If we were to take the trip to living legends or DDay OK (especially DDay OK), chartering a bus or a train ride would be cool. But like Josh said, if I'm traveling to Oklahoma to play paintball, I am getting there at least one full day prior.

After some brief research it looks like a 46 person bus from Bmore to Chicago would be $180 round trip (rough value). The smaller the bus the higher the price. Is $200 out of the question for most people?

Not out of the question but doesn't seem like a great value. It would be far cheaper to carpool in groups.

I'll be headed to ion this year. It's always better to carpool as parking can be insane at skirmish and cutting spending costs always helps. I usually arrive Thursday night or Friday morning. Anyone wanting to "join the wagon train" shoot me a pm.

Games like OK D-day and ION are the type of big games that if you want to attend you need to take the days off work to go and enjoy it. Trying to pack it into the weekend can be done but not usually in large numbers to fill a bus. Save you pennies and vacation days, spend 2 of them and go for it! If you only go once so be it, you went. Thats more then alot of players can say about those games...

ill tell ya if your planning on ION and are going to camp out with the other 400 or so people, a Bus really isnt a good idea. Your best bet for that would be a rental 15 passenger or something at the most. Or just pack a few cars and rent a Uhaul trailer for the gear lol
