What NPPL should do for 2012!!! Read and respond!!:!:!
I really do think NPPL should have events #2 and #3 over the summer. This would give all the kids in school a better chance to actually be able to play the events. Like the second event at the beginning of June and the third event in early august. Just saying cuz it's hard for some kids to go to #2 if it's at the end of May during finals or something.

unless your referring to high school kids almost all colleges are out by late May and the 2 gap 2 setup gives teams time to get some money together for the last 2 events

Split the league into two conferences. East and west. Have each conference run there own 4 events. Then have a national championship at the end of the year to crown the national champ.
This would lower the cost for teams because there would be less cross country travel. Cheaper plane flights. Less time missed from work/school.

good thought, but this would raise costs for teams. this would mean paint companies would have to travel to 8 locations a year rather than 4 and sponsors would have to come out 8 times and nppl would have to set up fields 8 times. this would raise costs drastically.

Less events on the east coast. Chicago weather is always an issue. And the attendance of the events is low.

You don't have to have a massive trade show at every event. Kee has a plant in florida, if they didn't want to send their semi-truck to every event they could ship the paint there.
I guess my point is have HB because its HB, but then have regional events. Heck you could have more than two conferences. This could increase exposure on the regional level and help to build teams and fields.
Then take the regional/conference winners and hold a national championship in Vegas.
This is done in many other sports. AAU does this for baseball, basketball etc.
As far as raising the cost for the teams, I don't see how that could happen. If I were able to play regional events with the quality of the national events. I could save $$ because the events would probably be closer, meaning I could drive (no flight or very cheap flights, and if you drive no rental car). Being that the events would probably be smaller, that could translate into a shorter tournament. Which in turn would save on hotel and travel costs, and it would mean less time away from work and school.
Tourney series such as CFPS, WCPPL, GPL and CFOA etc have all shown that the regional series could handle this type of league.

i like jarude's theory but i think logistics could cause an issue.
epik808, not everyone can have hawaii weather all the time. its also not easy for you to go anywhere, its what 6 hour plan flight just to get to cali? so i can't imagine there are any events that are good for you location wise, and i'm sure that the population of those that play paintball in hawaii and that are going to travel to national events is far less than those that play on the main land.

The weather is unpredictable any where. Just the timing of Chicago and the weather there is high risk of storms. I don't care about the weather as much as I care about the attendance of the event. I rather see the Tampa event in exchange for Chicago. There Is way more players at one field in Cali then there is in my whole state. Location wise nothings close for me I never stated traveling was an issue.
