Project E-cocker Q/A

Hey nation,

I am in the midst of building an E-Karni out of spare parts and I was wondering if I could use an Eblade-2 Board/Frame with an Eblade-1 solenoid.

Thanks in advance

I just picked up a mint condition chrome E-2 frame for $50 on ebay and I plan on dropping the E1 board in it. But now I know I can also use the E2board-E1solenoid combo as well.

Thx

Hey,

This is my first cocker project and I'd like to make sure I have all the components necessary for a successful build.

1. Body w/ Backblock and pump arm

2. Pneumatics a. LPR b. RAM, c. E1 Solenoid with cover and barbs/hosing on all components

3. Bolt

4. Valve

Also, I need help in order to make sure I've considered all the compnoents of an E1 frame when swapping into an E2.

1. E1 Board

2. E1 Sear and sear solenoid

3. E2 trigger / E2 frame.

Edit: Do I need a hammer and springs? Thanks in advance for any help**

Post a pic so we can see what you have and don't have.

Yes, you need a hammer and springs if you would like it to shoot. Karnivor's use an ICS hammer that's specific to the back block.

I also have a stock Karni reg for sale if you don't have one.

I gotta find the charger for my camera so I'll post pics soon.

I just picked up a mint condition gloss black Karnivor body with backblock and ccm pumparm. (Edit: Also includes the Karni inverted frontblock and a Shocktech adjustable feedneck)

A chrome E2 frame w/ trigger. And a chrome E2 solenoid housing.

I have an Eblade1 kit in the box never-used. So I have all the parts that come in an E1 kit including the tape that cover the sear and the warning tape on the frame itself. Like I said It's never been used.

I plan on taking the E1 components and swapping them into the E2 frame and E2 solenoid hous.

I'm sorry to ask the following noob question. What hammers would be "ics"?

I am about to buy an Evolution Valve off compulsive and I'd like to know where I can find a compatible hammer/spring.

As far as the rest of the components. I am picking up a bolt, tickler lpr and either an STO ram or an EVO ram off ebay.

PMed about the hpr...I'm planning on using a spare CP reg but I'm also interested in the stock hpr

Thanks for the help

PMed about the hpr

From what I've read I'd have to either find a Karnivor ICS Hammer or MQ Valve it.

Is this correct?

No you can simply drill a hole in the backblock to use a standard cocking rod and use any hammer. This is what I did with my karnivor build that I just did. Didn't feel like paying 90+ dollars for an ICS system on ebay or use sanchez machine's ICS (customer support was awful trying to do this).

Thanks for the response.

I'm looking at getting an MQ2 valve. Performance wise I was probably going to try and get it eventually. But since I still need to buy a valve/hammerkit combo I mean I could just put that towards the MQ2.

With an MQ2 I would essentially replace the whole ICS system including the internal cocking rod?

Sorry for the noob q's

I am looking at the stock ICS system and it uses an internal cocking rod.

Any help would be appreciated

Since I'm getting just the body without the existing ICS. What can I do since the MQ2 manual is tellin me to "Cut off the front, larger diameter part of the ICS rod, leaving a 1.50” long (including threads) stub. Thread into backblock."

And some other peopel have told me that the Karnivor doesnt use a cocking rod with an MQ2.

I'm starting to think it might be easier to drill a hole in the backblock and just install a normal setup.

Can someone please tell me if I need an "ICS rod" for the MQ2?

Thanks

I think you may just give yourself headaches with that... MQ's are really not recommended for anyone inexperienced with cockers. They can be finicky and are difficult to troubleshoot. Even more-so if you're using an E1.

You'd be better off (ease of parts availability and lesser cost) to just drill a hole in your back block for a standard cocking rod setup.

What's so difficult about the MQ2? I mean I may not have much experience with cockers but I have plenty of vintage matrices and I've learned them inside out.

I think I can learn my was thorugh the Mq2.

But anyway I'm doing the normal setup with the drilled backblock.

What exactly would I need?

I'm looking at an AKA hammer kit on compulsive and an Evolution valve/

Other than the cocking rod is there anything else I would need?

Thanks

Im contacting Sanchez machine to see if they have an ICS sytem for the Karni or if they can sell me their backblock for the karni drilled for a traditional cocking rod

Are your services avaiable? How much would you charge to drill the karni backblock?

I might just go to sears and buy a drill

Thanks

You don't need anything fancy for your lower tube if your going the normal route, may as well and save yourself the money and get stock WGP lowers and a spring kit. Lower tube upgrades usually don't give enough of a performance boost to justify price, unless you're min/maxing.

I just got off the phone with Sanchez Machine and they are willing to drill a hole for free as long as I buy their karni bb off them.

So this works out perfectly since I'll be able to keep the stock backblock undrilled and hopefully I'll stumble accross an ICS system in the near future.

Just one question, Will the CCM valve/hammer kit include everything I need?

Do i need a valve tool in order to install it?

Thanks

Yes the CCM kit has everything. Yes you still need a valve tool to tighten the jam nut.

Ok I picked up a brand new Autococker Nelson Velocity Hammer & Spring Set NEW for $15 shipped.

As far as the internals, all I would need now is the valve and a valve tool, correct?

Nelson Hammer kit

Thanks for the help
