blew up my axe???

check this out....I was in a middle of a game today n all of sudden I kinda of saw my balls starting to drop like I was running out of air but I had 2000psi left in my tank.....all of sudden there was this "pop"/bang and all of a sudden i was loosing air straight out the barrel..you could feel it blow out like a air compressor.....then the electronics were totally dead on the gun no lights or nothing....so I went home pulled the battery and put back in and I got power ok....I air it up and it shoots the air out of the barrel... o ring????

btw battery is new

any ideas?

why the hell did you pay for a new one?

that's a prime candidate for free warranty replacement.

Check all orings on boat sail/ guide. Same exact thing happened to me today at my field as i was messing with dwell and reg pressure all day trying to find a tweaked setting. Since I have the lurker bolt it turned out to be the oring inside of the spacer it ships with. But your problem may be similar as I too noticed drop off, then "POP", my electronics turned off, then all of the air rushed out of ASA/REG+ Barrel and everytime I would turn asa lever on--air would rush down the barrel. Best of Luck.I was pretty worried myself. Relieved it was just an oring.

if it leaks down the barrel please look at your poppet. I don't think people really understand how important the poppet is as it controls the airflow, and is pretty much the sole reason that your gun would leak out the barrel.

Because Paintball Solutions said I over-pressurized it. Not sure how...I was running 180psi all day...?

Out of the box Axes usually have some regulator pressure issues. It's usual for the pressure to rise while playing until the regulator breaks in. Even if you set it around 180psi it rises to 200+psi.

It happened to me and to all my teamates who got axes. Despite that we never had any problems from that other than having to check the pressure with more caution than usual.

One many Reason that the Solenoids goes out is due to WEAK batteries. This marker does us require a good battery such as Duracell or Energizer. If you use those you should be good. Also if it does POP/or blow and your board shuts off you will need to reset the solenoid when you put a new battery on it, that should solve it. You can also lightly lube the piston in the solenoid, and when I say LIGHTLY it MEANS VERY Lightly.

What do you do if your solenoid blows the piston and the seal out the bottom including breaking the retaining ring that held the piston in place?

I only use Duracell batteries and I replace them each time I play. I know this sounds a bit excessive, but I replace all my batteries every time I play to ensure that I don't have battery problems. It wasn't regulator creep either as my Axe is well broken in and rarely rises above 190psi even in Oklahoma's summer heat of 109 degrees.

similar problem last weekend.

Made a weird sort of 'farting' noise and experienced extreme drop off, then fine for a few shots, then the same 'farting' noise and more drop off.

Turned out to be the bolt guide o'ring. The one right at the tips.

Replaced it and shot flawless again for the est of the day.

Minis have a solenoid blow out problem too. Empire is pretty good at replacing them if you've already lightly lubed and troubleshooted it.
